I've heard of that app but never tried it. How does it work?
It just sets up a list of apps you don't want running all the time. If you're rooted, it does it automatically. You'd be surprised how much crap is running in the background.

Hibernation Manager is also very awesome for saving battery life. It forces Doze on the apps you choose when the display is off. I get over a day of battery life on my 6P because of it.

It's funny though because the stock android phones like the Nexus 6P doesn't compete with phones running TW like the Note 5. Even with supposed bloated TW the Note 5 gets better battery life.

I haven't had both, so I'll take your word for it. But I'll doubt it. Especially if you are comparing the Note without MM. 6P has a bigger battery, no bloat, doze. It lasts me sometimes 2.5-3 days (although I am not a heavy user). Perhaps there were some bugs prior to 6.0.1 that you ran into (I believe there was a wifi issue).

Edit: I'll eat my words, sure enough it is better:

Looks like the 810 is the real killer here from reading some reviews.

The 6P is a great phone! I loved the phone when I had it. I didn't like the FP scanner on the back. I kept hitting the wake/sleep button when using the FP scanner. If it wasn't for that I would still have the 6P. I think the FP scanner is just as good or better than than the one on my 6s+ tbh. Gorgeous phone!

You'll be back! I gave up S6 Edge when 6s Plus came out. This is my first iPhone and there is no way you can get me to go back to Android. I gave up that gorgeous display in exchange for a smooth experience. Trust me, you will not like that Touchwiz lag. I watched a hands-on demo video of the S7 a couple days ago and the lady was swiping through the screens and it would take her a couple swipes to move through it. Everything she tried to do would take her a couple times! So the lag is still there. Good luck!! Oh yeah...hopefully they fixed that wonky fingerprint reader also...slow as heck compared to iPhone 6s plus. That S7 is beautiful, don't get me wrong, but beauty only goes so far. You might want to think about it!

Sir, you are confusing TouchWize with Android. But good attempt to make people think Android is laggy mess. But in reality, iOS 9 lags as well.

I believe there is now an option in Greenify to automate in non-root as well.

But yes, Greenify is a life-saver. Had it running on my note 3 (rooted) and my battery life was fantastic. My parents had issues with the battery life on their new LG G4s, installed Greenify, and they were pleased with the "new" battery life.

Greenify works MUCH better as root I don't know why nor really care but for me it's almost pointless unless you're rooted

Last time I tried to use an Android S6 Edge+ it lasted about 2 days. Its ecosystem is a waste.

it is even better with xposed!

keep those apps locked down and from running in the background!

Greenify is really best designed for Root + Xposed to get the full benefits. Not really sure what good it does on a stock virgin Android phone ?

The dev did work some kind of voodoo for non root functionality he did a write up on it. It still does its job from what I gather, but it gets significantly better the more power you give it yea

It's not automated it's a forced Doze setting, which is different than the default purpose of force closing apps.

You're right, I guess I should have said Touchwiz was laggy, not Android...you got me there sir! Either way if he goes to S7 he will still be dealing with TOUCHWIZ! Thanks for pointing that out though!

I am with you on the cables - I have bought several here (not from an iStore) and they are not often compatible with the iPad which is a real pain. I am horrified at the price of the proprietary cables which my cat keeps chewing through, she has expensive taste.

I use it without root with my Note 5 and find it useful.

I've used it both rooted and unrooted on two phones my original One mini and now the Nexus 5. The One mini was Lollipop and the Nexus is MM and unrooted it didn't do anything noticeable on either..dunno

I will say that so far the Nexus has gone from atrocious battery life to bad, but it lasts long enough that I'm not looking for a charger as soon as I get home from work.

I have a Note 5 and a S7 Edge and neither one lags. Actually my Galaxy S7 edge shipped with the lightest fastest TW ever and no carrier bloat. :)

IOS has never lagged for me. Most dependable when it comes to lag.

My note 4, S6 edge were both very laggy. Hopefully the S7 edge doesn't.

I have a Note 5 and a 6s+ and switch between the two all the time. I feel there are some things Android does better than IOS and then there are things IOS does better than Android. Having both is the best of both worlds for me anyway.

I have the same setup as you and agree with this commentary.

It really is a great setup. Having both platforms really lets one see the benefits of both mobile operating systems. There are pro and cons to BOTH. Everytime i switch phones I see the differences. I like them both so much I can't just pick one :)
