a better place
It really is a great setup. Having both platforms really lets one see the benefits of both mobile operating systems. There are pro and cons to BOTH. Everytime i switch phones I see the differences. I like them both so much I can't just pick one :)

Likewise. I know too if I had only one, I'd end up being frustrated - so by having both and fluctuating between them as my daily drivers I get far less irritated that I'm missing out :D

If you're a huge photography geek why are you using a smartphone period? They all Suck compared to DSLR's. That being said the s7 while will be a good one it doesn't make the 6 or 6s have a bad camera. I actually love the iPhone camera app over Samsung ones based on my last Samsung phone the note 4

Yes they do. Just about any DSLR will be superior to the dumbphone camera. Obviously, it's a matter of convenience for most people and not quality photographs.

Hey All,

After much consideration i'm saying goodbye to iPhone 6S Plus and hello to Galaxy S7 Edge. Working in technology I think Apple has just been surpassed and is failing to innovate and make smart decisions. The whole "The only thing that has changed is everything" marketing was quite frankly, a joke..

Everytime I go into the Apple store and see people paying $29.99 for what should be a $9.99 cable it just makes me sick. I'm just tired of the whole deal that is Apple. Anyone else feel this way? Not saying they make bad products at all..

I'm certainly going to miss iMessages but that's about it. I'll be gaining a phone that is much more ergonomic, has a better screen, larger battery, better camera, external storage, wireless charging, etc..
I just returned my Note 5. I'm completely bored with Apple, in general. However, I couldn't get past the bugs and the clunkiness. And I know it's customizable and I can eventually get it to a place where it works well and the battery isn't draining like crazy, just not in a place in life where I have any interest in doing Samsung/Google's job for them. I was inches from keeping it and ditching the iPhone but the back and multitask are painful for me. I just felt like I was constantly unintentionally tapping the screen and buttons; probably more a symptom of my catcher's mitt hands. And I gave the phone enough time, so it was either keep it or lose the return window.

But yeah, little things like BT audio randomly pausing for several seconds or BT audio disconnecting after I turn my car off and then automatically just going to speaker audio instead of pausing really killed it for me. I figured the battery drain thing would get fixed in another update but while I'm waiting for the update, my choices are to wipe or charge 2-3 times per day. And it's four months later and still not OS update? Silly.

Hey All,

Working in technology I think Apple has just been surpassed and is failing to innovate and make smart decisions.

For me, it's quite the opposite. It's the only company making usable, beautiful gadgets and not ugly gimmicks and the oversaturated, tasteless Samsung is the worst of the bunch. But good luck with your choice, I hope you enjoy it.

No it's religion and both side have it in great quantity

Seriously? I can't just like one product and dislike the other?

Is this a joke?

No. I think the devil's in the detail and Samsung is without class or style. I am not malicious or anything, I just don't like how their phones look, how they feel and the mess of features they offer. I'm not the only one to think so, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't feel the opposite. Nor does it feel we're all religious sheep, I'm affraid. It seems to me a part of you is still insecure about your decision, that's why you had the need to post it here and justify it; it's also the reason why you claim to think my post is a joke - instead of just enjoying your device. Who cares what people think, if you're satisfied with your choice? Why do you have the need to make fun of mine?

Maybe a small part of you is scared that I'm right when I say Samsung is without taste or that Android is a mess or that you shouldn't confuse features and specs with inovation and good design. Or you just feel like arguing :) Either way, as I said, enjoy your new phone.

Since I transfer media alot while deleting and adding files on the go, one of the simple things I hate with iOS is I can't mass delete everything. There is no file explorer for me to select all files and delete hundreds of videos. On the device, it is only one at a time. I still have to connect to wretched iTunes which hangs my Windows 8.1 PC down to select all and mass delete files. I don't know if iOS9 can do this at because I went as far as 8.3. Very simple feature on Android and WP.

I keep so many phones because it just keeps things fun. I quit using my Note 4 and Note Edge for a few months and then started using them again a few weeks ago. I love that Note Edge. I think it was an excellent phone and at the same time, I understand why Samsung only gave it a year and then concentrated on the S6/S7 Edge.

I don't plan on buying any more phones this year, bought two iPhones in December and the Note 5/S7 Edge in the last 30 days. I'll stay on the January-February upgrade cycle for my Androids and I usually buy the latest iPhone during that time as well.

Eh. OP protests too much. Obviously just wants validation for his decision. Threads like this are bizarre. These things are tools. You pick the one that does the stuff you need it to in the way you prefer.

I am tired of the complaints about Apple stuff being overpriced. $30 cables!!! Ummm...yeah, I don't see any armed employees holding guns to anyone's head. Evidently folks are happy to spend the money. Whatever.

Lol at this thread. Some of the comments are truly cringe worthy.

Yes there are more android users than ios users just like there are more car owners than yacht owners. Its purely price point. You can not buy £10 iphone but you can buy a £1 chinese android phone.

Despite all these android users, app developers still earn more on ios apps. What does this tell you about the demographic of android users?
How is it cringe worthy? Most smartphone only use like 20% of their potential or less. Nobody should even be updating to $199 contract phones but people are under the mercy of carriers.

A $30-$50 Microsoft Lumia 640 and Moto E 2nd gen can fulfill most people's needs except maybe in camera. I was looking at a flyer of the Asus Zenfone Max vs an iPhone 6s Plus. I couldn't believe the difference in battery size (5000 mAh) and price point ($180) of the Zenfone Max. I think paying for flagship quality is wasteful and generally pointless just like buying $100 meals in restaurants. People are feeding their ego and not their stomachs. Just for an ego trip that goes away after a few months.

So people can go ahead and waste more money on iPhones or any other Samsung flagship because they are pretty, or you're stuck on some ecosystem, or blah blah blah because all smartphones are DISPOSABLE anyway. They all lose value too. After a couple years, the batt degrades and then you get another one realizing the pretty design and cool features you barely used after a couple years was a waste of money because you are under the mercy of the carrier and around people to try to look cool because you have an iPhone that everybody has or had anyway.

Subsidized flagships has been the biggest scam to the mass consumers during the last couple years thanks to carriers. Like anyone has a TV higher than 1080p or needs to record in 4K. The only thing I find cringe worthy is watching people fall for the flagship hype and paying more for features they don't necessarily need. The HTC One M7 was one of the best designs and best smartphone of the year in 2013. I find it to be one of the most overrated smartphones ever in hindsight. Crap camera and battery life. Weird bugs. But I fell for the design like everyone else who bought it. Egos. That's all people are feeding.

Seems like a generalization that tries to support a point with a shaky foundation.

Generalization on top of hyperole.

Would love to see Apple add Themes or at least icon packs and some customization to iOS 10. Currently I find iOS too bland and the lack of any form of customization is a big turn off IMO

Not even allowing the most simple basic form of customizing like moving app icons to be placed anywhere on the homescreen is a joke in 2016.

Stopped by the Apple store while at the mall. The staff was very friendly and helpful but none of the products impressed.

Tried the iPhone 6S Plus. It's just big physically but boring without personalization, SAMOLED, Wacom pen, split screen multitasking, PiP, etc. that have been around on non-iPhone devices for about half a century. Hopefully iPhone 7 will receive a major overhaul.

Wandered over to the iPod Pro. It's big but that's about it. No basics like pen to text transcription and using the pen to navigate the OS is flaky. Maybe that's why Apple wanted to get rid of that capability in a recent beta iOS release. Swiping away apps from the app switcher menu is inconsistent and sometimes takes half a dozen swipes with the pen before it took. Maybe 2nd gen will fix all the issues.

Skipped over the Macbook Air with the terrible low resolution TN display and tried the retina Macbook Pro 13.3. Force click gimmick is annoying so turned on tap to click in settings. A little better but didn't see a setting for double tap to drag. Just maximizing and minimizing Safari is kludgy if you've used any other modern OS.

Instead of making things better Apple is just making things bigger.

You have religion.

Liking and disliking products is based on personal taste and needs. Really don't see the connection to religion. What I do see is you trying to disprove my point of view without any arguments, attacking my judgement (religious bias) as opposed to challenging what I say (which would prove hard to do, as I claimed nothing other than that I personally prefer something). Which is argumentum ad hominem. In other words, you proved nothing.

Every forum has at least one of you, I guess. On Macrumors, every day we have the same thing: someone comes to an Apple forum and says something bad about Apple. Someone says he/she disagrees and is immediately, ad hominem, pronounced a zealot, Steve worshiper or something like that. Because saying that "Apple has lost it" is objective, and liking Apple while disliking Samsung or Surface or whatever is, by default, obsessive, religious fanaticism.

Like I said you have religion so of course you won't understand. Secondly I don't think I've ever said anything bad about Apple.

I have an iPhone 6s and I would also like to go to the S7, but the problem is that it would probably only get 2 major Android updates. My iPhone will get atleast to iOS 13 or 14, I would get the S7 if I knew for certain I could upgrade more frequently
