Once the public release becomes available, I'll download a fresh installer and perform a clean installation on a new APFS container to see if I can replicate the issue. My setup includes an i9 processor and a 5500M GPU, so we should expect similar results. I still haven't experienced the red flashing or any graphics corruption
Great, thanks. I'll do some more testing as well. There's a chance that it was a fluke, and a reboot could fix it.

I did a fresh install on a separate volume with no third-party apps, and I couldn’t replicate the issue at all not even the red flashing, let alone any graphic corruption.
Thanks for testing that.

Instead of doing a fresh install, I decided to just update my main install of Sonoma to 15.4.1 Sequoia. I ran a bunch of 4K videos, and didn't get any red, flashing, or any other graphical artifacts. I'll continue to test, and report back if I have any other issues. As of right now, I believe Apple has essentially fixed the issue.

I upgraded to 15.4.1. It's been a day and there were no instance of the red glitches either while the integrated or discrete GPU is active.

Hi guys, I am getting weird red bars and freezing on Ventura. I am on a 2017 iMac so I am unable to upgrade further. Should I downgrade to an older software or are there any solutions?

Well, the problem occurs even in 14 Sonoma. If you can't upgrade all the way to the Sequoia, you'll just accept to see red glitches whenever you switch to discrete GPU and switch between UI views.

I don't recommend using a version that has stopped receiving security updates tho. As the glitches (bad firmware?) are not currently reported for creating permanent harm on the hardware, they are safe to assume just cosmetic. I think it is better for you to upgrade to latest version for security reasons.

Unfortunately, you're stuck between some hard choices:

1) Downgrade to Monterey
Kind of an annoying process, and that puts you on even older, no longer supported, software version.

2) Ignore it, and stay on Ventura
Not great, but the least effort I'm not sure ho bad it was for you, but I kind of got semi-used to ignoring it before they fixed it in 15.5.

3) Upgrade to Sequoia via OpenCore Legacy Patcher
More work, and you're on your own or at the mercy of people online helping you, if there's problem. but overall, I've installed it on a few Macs, and haven't really had a problem. https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/. This is probably the one I would choose, but your technical skills may vary.

4) Install Windows or Linux
This is a bigger step, especially if you prefer macOS.

5) Replace the hardware
The most expensive option. Better long term, but may not be affordable right now. Also, Who wants to reward Apple with a sale for releasing poor software. you can get some great deals on used Apple Silicon Macs, though.
