got a screen protector from skinomi - it comes with 6 films. it's pretty unobtrusive, when it has dried after 2-3 days and even partly covers the edges, because it's some rubber-like material. it's not 100% invisible because of this - doesn't make a 100 % flat surface, but that's only visible if you reflect some light off it, and it feels different than glass - but not in a bad way. on the other hand, it completely hides small scratches, you might already have on your watch. installing it wet is pretty easy, if you've got the hang of it (i wasted my first one because of bubbles, but realized later on that you can even peel it off days later and install it perfectly again).
every few weeks the edges start to peel off, so that's probably why there are 6 in a pack.

I have a Casemate Naked Tough case on my Sport and I want to add a screen protector. I have always had my phone protectors installed at the store and the installation has always been flawless but Best Buy was out of stock. I bought a Zagg at Target and attempted to install it myself. BIG mistake! I registered my protector and requested a warranty replacement but now I'm not sure what to do when it gets here. Does anyone have a GOOD video showing how to install this thing? Because it goes over the curved edges, which I what I want for protection, I just couldn't get a good installation myself. Should I try the Zagg again when my replacement gets here or go with something else? Anyone have suggestions for a protector that is easy to install?

yes it is, even the shaphire glass gets scratched or atleast the coating on it so its not worth risking not having a screen protector

I exchanged my Space Gray Sport for a Space Black SS watch looking forward to added scratch resistance. Since the new watch has sapphire crystal, I didn't think a screen protector was necessary.

I've had my watch for about 2 months. Just the other day, while looking at the watch in direct sunlight, I noticed two parallel micro-scratches running diagonally across the screen. I'm assuming it's a scratch in the coating. Strange thing is that the scratches are perfectly straight and follow the curved edges of the screen.

I can live with these scratches since they can only be seen when deliberately holding the watch under sunlight at just the right angle. However, I can see how some might be bothered just knowing they are there.

...man - I've just read through ALL 20 pages of this thread and I am still none the wiser as to which protector to get?!!
:eek:o_O

The wet install types look too 'orange peely' and the tempered glass ones, only obviously cover the flat part of the watch!! Which is best? Well after 20 pages- its still anyone's guess?!!!!!!

Tempered Glass : Probably will go for this one as it has a 5 star review on Amazon (UK) : http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00ZQ5D2...lid=3D4CF8SR0DOJ9&coliid=I33A6HNJ3W755Q&psc=1

I picked up the Zagg HD protector way back in June and it's still on there. It can be very tricky placing it on the watch screen so I get it.

If you look at this video, this can help I hope. Even though it says "Armorsuit" (another name brand), it's the same exact application. Turn off the watch, that should be obvious :) But the video says "remove the battery"...no, you don't need to do that.

The key - which is mentioned in the video - is spray your fingers, this will avoid the protector to stick to your fingers..potentially wrinkling it. Also the key is good lighting and patience.

Including my post? :p

Are you getting full-body or just the screen? Get the armorsuit or water-resistant skinomi.

..can't get the ArmorSuit here in the U.K. and don't really wanna pay for shipping from the U.S. to the U.K as it will probably cost more that the product itself!!

I ended up going for this wet install type:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00UVSNFRQ?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00

If that one turns out to be garbage, I also ordered this tempered glass style:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00ZQ5D2MW?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01

...so at least one of these should give me adequate protection!

Well, as expected, that wet install one from Spigen, is indeed garbage!!!

Here are a few pics:

As you can plainly see, the corners just DO NOT stay down. This was installed on over 1 day ago and the corners just keep on lifting up, no matter what I do. I am only keeping this on, until I find something better.

The corners can be tricky in general, because they're curved. I made the mistake of not pushing outward from the center to over one corner and it got screwed up.

I'm really hoping some of the high end glass screen protectors that have been coming out for the iPhone 6/6+ will make their way into the Watch market. I finally convinced myself to cough up $20+ for an IceMax 3D screen protector for my phone and with the actual curved glass edges (not just radiused corners) it feels amazing. If they could make something like that for the watch it would be brilliant.

Well, I ordered Skinomi® TechSkin [6 Pack] recently but will be a while till I have it in my hands, but those were the ones that got the best reviews, some of them said it would stick to the curved corners well.

I received my Skinomi 6 pack, for my 42mm Apple Watch the other day, and to be honest, these are probably the best protection you can get for your watch.

Here are some shots:

That long white line in the bottom left corner is not a bubble - its a reflection of the white wall behind me!

Compare to the Spigen I had on previously (pic below), the Skinomi are far more superior - and the corners actually stick!!!

upload_2016-4-11_11-52-19.png

Typically, the quality of the finish you will get from all wet install types (the Skinomi is no different) is as follows, which I don't mind :

upload_2016-4-11_11-54-51.png

upload_2016-4-11_11-55-17.png

I purposely captured the ceiling light to show off the orange peel effect which all wet install protectors give, however, when viewing the screen head on, none of these are visible.

The beauty of the Skinomi is that you receive 6 in a pack - so if you screw up the first time (like I did!), you have 5 more attempts!

The knack with the Skinomi is to spray on a fine layer of solution onto the adhesive side of the protector and then lay it down onto the watch. DON'T then try to squeegy out the solution (like I did on my first attempt!) as the protector will just slide about all over the place! The knack is to leave the watch alone for about 20 minutes (with the protector aligned properly), and to let the protector just dry a little on its own. The protector will then stick to the watch on its own, and you then can then gently start to squeegy out the solution without the protector sliding about.

I got my pack this weekend and while I had a similar experience to yours (which is good to know) in regards to application and the orange peel effect, one of the corners always stays a little up, but that's because I tried to remove the solution right away.
However interesting you mention the protector slides all over the place (as say, shown on the instruction video from Skinomi, where it's applied on a cellphone) but in my experience I couldn't get it to slide that's why I basically couldn't position it better.

...if the protector wasn't sliding about, you probably didn't use enough solution on the adhesive side.

With the corners, all 4 of mine stuck down fine.

After leaving the watch alone for about 20 mins (waiting for the protector to dry a little), the protector naturally starts sticking to the screen. You can then gently use a squeedgy or a credit card to squeeze out the solution.

I used a rubber squeedgy to push out the liquid and then just used my fingers to hold down the edges. Again, some of the edges and corners will try and lift - you just need to set down the watch and let it dry a little longer. This way, the edges/corners will become tacky and they will naturally want to stick down when held in position.

I also warmed up the corners (by heavy breathing on them!!!!!!) and held each one down (when it was slightly warm). I followed on from the first stuck down corner, all the way around the edge of the watch, until the whole protector was stuck down. If you also hold the watch inside you clasped together hands (so the fleshy part of your hands warms up the protector on the screen), you will find it sticks down pretty good.

This is a pretty good installation video (and shows what I mean by holding the watch inside your hands to warm the protector up):

Hey thanks a lot man for explaining in detail and the girl at the video does a fantastic job on showing how it's done.

I'll give it a go next weekend and see if I can get it to stick better.

armour suit lifts. no matter how great the initial install... give it a few days and the corners lift.

Thought I would finally contribute. Back in May last year I bought an Apple Watch Sport and didn't do anything about screen protection until this past October. I think I was lucky in that the glass didn't get scratched in that time and I have AC+ so I felt OK...and lucky. Then I watched a friend of mine accidentally swipe his against a brick wall waking in a narrow area on a job site. Bang. Amazingly the aluminum held up incredibly well, but the glass was scratched. Not too bad given the fact he hit it hard, but your nail would hit it if you dragged it over it. Then I started researching the various screen protector manufacturers and started with Skinomi. Between Oct and March I went through all six in one pack. Coverage was great but adherence was lacking. April 1st I applied Armorsuit. Looks similar to Skinomi but sticks much better. I do recommend hitting the watch with a hairdryer on low heat once you have the protector lined up and you've let it sit for 12-15 minutes-(watch off). Once you get the watch warm (very slightly) I pressed the edges down on each side and held for 20 seconds. Then I did the sides. Worked fantastically well. The Skinomi would peel up on the edges after 20 days or so, no exposure to anything beyond normal wear; no water or anything else. With Armorsuit, no peel, and I'm a month in. I'm definitely happier with Armorsuit and ordered the full body protector just to see how it works out.

Well, today being the 1st May, my Skinomi protector still looks as good as the first day I applied it. I'm still on my first one (you get 6 in a pack) and there has been no peeling of any corners.

A definite thumbs up from me!
