Not sure why google pixel got into this thread but it's not that great... no stereo speakers, no optical stabilization or zoom, no water resistance, and in one review even a small drop made it chip/crack so probably not as durable. I wouldn't use one even if I did get it free.

i use liquid glaz on my iphone. its like a sealent for cars and works perfectly for me. have my iphone since release date and no micro scratches. the liquid glaz protector is invisible and looks like you dont have anything on your screen.

I have the same issue with my 7. Nothing major, but in direct sunlight I have many fine scratches. It's really disappointing. It's only ever been placed in an empty pocket, I've never laid it face down, etc...

I've owned everything from the 3G up, and never had an issue with scratches until my 6; within the first month of owning it I noticed it had a ton of fine scratches (and one that remained visible with the screen on). And the 6 had been BABIED to that point. Rarely even saw a pocket.

you know you can still be proud of the device you received for free without having to put down a community of people just because they didn't acknowledge your humble brag, right?

But then when I'm driving around in my Ferrari 599 GTB no one would know that I have a Pixel XL unless I tell them about it!

I got it for free though, so, um, ya.... Sheesh!

I'm not a sheeple! I like all kinds of super duper things that make me cool. Why is that relevant? Um... well... my Ferrari doesn't scratch as easy as my iPhone does. Lousy Apple quality. My Pixel though? Whoa! No scratches at all. I mean, I wouldn't use it in public, but if I did, everyone would notice the lack of scratches.

you need to attach a few pics of your Pixel to your ferrari for people to notice; preferably laying on or next to something else you own to prove that it is, indeed, your Pixel.

Proof that Android fanboys are as bad as vegans. Except vegans tend to just tell you why they're vegans instead of putting down others with derogatory terms.
Android fanboy? I own an iPhone and a Macbook and use them all the time. IPhone 6 plus

A community? He who I replied to is an apple fanboy and will call him out for it. I have an iPhone as well and using it as my daily driver. It's also an iPhone 6 plus which is inferior to the Pixel in every way in terms of hardware

Because the fanboy who stated iPhones are simply better phones in terms of durability I was proving wrong. My android devices have simply survived better than my ios devices. I never got micro scratches on my android devices which use gorilla glass vs whatever apple uses.

I've had my iPhone for 6 days now, and it's been in a case the entire time. I just looked down at the screen and it already has a scratch on it. I'm baffled.
I've always had an iPhone, going back to the first one 10 years ago. I haven't dropped it, and it stays in my pocket alone. No keys, nothing else in that pocket. Yet it has a scratch on the screen already. How did this happen? I'm wondering if anyone else is finding their iPhone X screen being prone to scratches.

My iPhone I've had for about 6 weeks now, it's never been in my pocket... it has a glass screen protector on it as well as a clear bumpered case which protects all surfaces from drops while adding minimal overall thickness to the phone... and...

*drumroll*

... I don't have any scratches on it.

We have a couple of threads on this already. The 8 had issues, and I only assumed the X would have the same issues so I put a screen protector right out of the box.

I went completely naked for 4 days before I could get a case and screen protector combo I liked.

Not a scratch.

When I read these types of scratch threads, the scratches don't spontaneously just appear. They have to have some form of contact with a display and some other material that causes the scratching. The OP did something inadvertently they likely were not aware of and the scratch was there until they finally observed it in the right light, but it didn't happen by itself.

My best advice would be to use a screen protector from this point forward.

So why would it have scratches with a screen protector?

Wooooshhhh!!!! Right over your head! Obviously!

But since you missed it... that was my whole point. I don't have any scratches on it...

... because....

???

I bought a screen protector.

It's hilarious to see these threads on a daily basis. Don't want to buy a screen protector or case? Fine... suit yourself.

Play with fire and you will eventually get burnt.

Have a great day!

A deep scratch or micro-scratches? Micro-scratches are unavoidable in my experience. A piece of dirt on your finger can cause them when you slide your finger across the screen or sliding it in and out of your pocket..
