Sensitive electronics? Great point! Why would you not make the device MORE durable then? This device serves one primary function as a phone, but also as a smaller, portable, handheld computer. It doesn’t get set on a tabletop for use nor on your lap. It’s kept in you pocket, used in people’s larger/small hands, out in the elements, to record video and audio at your family events, etc...
I never said I take a hammer to it, no should anyone. These devices should easily take a fall from 4-5 feet, with very limited damage. Not daily, but what may be considered an average and reasonable amount of daily use-abuse. This is my opinion. If you feel that spending this kind of $ on a handheld device that can be easy dropped or takes a greater level of daily-abuse vs other sensitive electronics, that is your opinion.
I think this is a good dialogue, and while this response is based on your comment, it is directed at the larger crowed that just fights people that are commenting on what they aren’t noticing with their devices. Right now, Apple is not using the same durability of glass that other manufacturers are in the industry (to the best of my knowledge).
