Today my friend, who is into photography mentioned that even if the dust shifts over time on the lens, it's unlikely to be visible in photos. However, if it gets inside onto the sensor, there will definitely be a noticeable spot in the pictures.

Also I woke up with completely changed opinion. I feel nothing but anger. As a loyal fan of the company, having invested a lot of time, nerves, and money (replaced the screen protector three times at my expense), I still haven't received a quality product.

Moreover, every time I go for an exchange, I notice bewilderment on the Apple employees faces and hear excuses that defects are normal. Every time I disagree with them and go for an exchange, they behave as if they are paying from their own pocket. They try to be nice, but I can feel that they want me to agree with them and don’t do the exchange.

Wtf Apple ?
Classic Apple employee behavior…they literally wanted me to keep an iPhone with a dead pixel because for them it was such a small thing to be considered as a defect…like bruh 💀

Hey mate, I went through a very similar thing and (no surprise) I am clinically diagnosed with OCD as well haha.

My 8th device isnt perfect, but I made peace with it and I don’t notice the issues anymore. I promise the cycle of exchanging makes you more sensitive to little issues, things that Apple wouldn’t even notice most of the time during QC. I’ve learnt there’s no perfect device as well. I thought my 14 Pro had a unicorn display because I did this same thing last year.

Turns out, once I was comparing it to the 15 pro, it had quite a red bottom half of the screen and also exhibited a similar blue shift over the CPU when the phone heated up. I hadn’t noticed that until a year later now when I excruciatingly compared them in extremely specific conditions.

What worked for me is on my 8th exchange, I didn’t check the type of panel I had. I didnt scrutinize it. I didn’t “check” for defects. Other than an obvious quick look at the phone when unboxing for like a serious scratch, etc (or looking for what most people would notice and classify as a defect). After that, I haven’t checked. And if I noticed anything during usage, I moved on.

Each exchange will make you more sensitive to the issues. I agree it should be better for a 2k phone, but we have to admit that we are being hyper sensitive to an extent.

All the best :)

I know, they look at you as how dare you have the audacity to return a phone. It’s not as though you’re returning 3 phones due to wanting a different color or model like so many people comment about doing themselves. These are legitimate defects, doesn’t matter how small they are. I’ve had $400 phones with better screens and fewer frame or case blemishes than some iPhones.

View attachment 2310154So… I made my final exchange. The screen is much better; it's not perfect, but it's noticeably improved with no red tint at all. The green tint still persists at viewing angles, but it's not as aggressive as on the previous unit—totally acceptable. There's not a single scratch on the frame.

BUT… there's still some dust under the camera lenses, this time on both the main camera and the ultra-wide one.

I guess I lost the lottery this year.

Was it worth it? Absolutely… NOT!

Yes, I got a better screen and a chassis without scratches. But it's still not perfect, and I still have to deal with dust under the camera lenses on a $1600 phone. Instead of enjoying my new phone despite a few defects, I wasted a lot of time and ended up with the same phone with a "lesser amount" of defects. An Apple Store employee told me to accept it and not to think about dust under the lenses because "it's not dustproof." lol. I don't know if he is right or not.

I'm totally disappointed with the quality, but I think if we want to continue using iPhones, we have to accept Apple's mediocre QC and just live with it. Don't repeat my mistake; enjoy your new phone and don't try to find the "perfect iPhone." I feel bad and exhausted for going through multiple exchanges.

I hope you guys are having a good time and enjoying your new iPhones!

And again, do not repeat my mistake! It just doesn't worth it.

P.S. I feel bad because all these exchanges will cost Apple some money. I know it's a trillion-dollar company, but still, I feel like I wasted their money because I'm too picky. However, they definitely have to improve their quality control for such expensive devices.
Yes, I agree, it has been a lottery this year.

Apple replaced my 15 Pro Max due to aggressive screen dimming and heating problem. Photographs from replaced phone's telephoto lens were having small grey patch on the same location in most of the photos, even though no dirt was visible in the lens glass. Apple replaced the camera, and left a speck of dirt inside the lens glass during repair. It was clearly visible.

What I did was, I put a towel on a hard surface, firmly patted top of the iPhone 3-4 times over a small distance, it dislodged and moved to black area on the periphery and it is no more visible. At least not hurting my eyes anymore. Absolutely horrible quality control.

I've finished trying PRO MAX and everyone has ****** screens. So I was going to buy an iPhone 15 Pro Black titanium of 512GB and it turned out pretty good. Much better than any PRO Max I've tried.

Today my fifth unit keeps losing connection all day. The internet just stops working, even though it shows a good signal. I already toggled airplane mode about 5-6 times just to get internet working. What's going on?
I have no idea what to do. My old iPhone 11 never did that. I’m losing my mind

Or scratches, or dust, or screen, or hardware problems! There's never an end! in my opinion the best is to live with one of it!

I was able to reproduce this issue 5 times in a row by just locking the screen. For example, my iPhone connected to the internet, everything is working, I lock the screen, wait a couple of minutes, unlock it and boom, no internet connection. Restart fixed it. Will test for a couple of days.

I guess it’s just a software bug, I don’t know.

After a couple of days of using the G9N unit, I have decided to stick with it, and will be returning the G9P. It really just came down to black text on white background in low light/night conditions being a bit more uniform across the screen, but overall there really wasn't much in it. Tbh I am not really entirely happy with either, but I am over the return/exchange game for this year.
Another thing that contributed to my decision was that prior to making my final call, I did check a whole bunch of handsets at a local Apple store, and they all exhibited very similar screen shift characteristics (slight green shift) to my unit. I checked the panels on a few of them, and they were all G9N panels. My conclusion is that the majority (the best ones) of these panels are ~as good as what I have, which is to say not as good as I expect, and that this year finding that unicorn panel is much harder to come by, at least for the 15 PM.

It was the same for me with choosing between two 15PM's, neither was good. I did not bother getting further than these two and the other went to another family member.

You made the same finding as I with demo models, they almost all are G9N. I actually so far found only one G9P in my local demo models and it was a horribly bad panel with showing terrible uniformity in bright store lighting, even my G9P is not that bad.
However I'm still wondering if there is something to this G9N being the preferred supplier due to (usually better) quality...?

Did you check battery full charge capacity in mAh from both 15PM's?
My G9P has noticeable weaker battery and it is getting weaker unlike our other one which is actually improving after some use (and it gets some abuse too unlike mine that I keep babying).

I didn't do any careful measurement of battery performance, but did some basic checks and both performed well with no noticeable difference between them.

I thought my display is uniform and it really is with my naked eye but photo shows some inperfections like pink flares.
Condition is pic taken in dark room, grey background, screen brightness set to around 15% maybe less.
I have applied full glue screen protector - maybe it makes these flares visible thru camera lens?
However i must admit (despite it's Iphone 14PM), the screen seems like a keeper.
i'm still in my RMA period
What do u think?

If your phone has no scratches or dust in the camera, keep it!
Night mode always over exaggerate “””imperfections”””…if everything is fine with the naked eye, I would definitely keep it 100%.

Hey :)

I got a good G9P panel (manufactured 10/01/2023) on my 256GB Black Titanium 15 Pro Max.
White uniformity and grey uniformity at low brightness levels pretty uniform.
Color shifting at normal same levels like my 14 Pro Max with G9N but more to the pink direction.
On 0% brightness you can see the middle of the screen is slightly brighter than the top and bottom, but better if only bottom or top of the screen is brighter or darker.
I found one annoying issue that the volume lower button is not as clicky more softly on the top half as the volume louder button.
The volume louder and power button are clicky as it should.

I got a G9N screen 256GB Black 15 Pro Max before and it had bad white uniform. The top was yellowish/orange and the bottom was blueish. Also the color shift on the bottom was aggressive while it was not at the top of the screen.

Will keep this G9P screen and fu** of this a little bit soft clicking volume lower button. The rest of the phone is fine, no scratches or something either.

Battery manufacturer is Simplo with 4539 capacity.

Can you show me some photos of the display with 10% brightness and true tone active? gray background! Thank you!

The bright photo is shooter with nightmode 100% and the other one without nightmode (14 PM Camera)
Brightness 10% & NightShift/TT off.
To the naked eye you cannot see the uneven was from the left side. It is only on the photo.

The left side is slightly darker than the right! and the lower area is darker than the lower one! This is mine with everything on!

I also found out that the G9P screens have a minimal lower maximum brightness than the G9N. I compared it with my 14 pro Max with G9N display at 100% brightness (auto brightness disabled). The 14PM is a little bit brighter.
But I prefer an even sceen over an minimal brighter screen.
The G9P panels in the 15 series seem to be good this year. :)

I also observed this. And I also noticed that HDR content was slightly brighter/punchier on the G9N. You wouldn’t notice if not comparing side by side.

In the brighter one how much is the brightness?

I think that the pics of a bright screen are misleading. At the end, only what we see / secrecy with bare eyes worth.

I shot some those pics with NS at 100% and True Tone off. Night mode (iPhone 12 camera) at 3 and the at 0.

As you can see the brighter pics has different result, although I was in the same exact position with the camera stand.
