So your hiccup with iCloud is more or less that you don't like how it's presented? Fine, we are all entitled to our personal preference over how our technology LOOKS. If you like the design of Android, then EXCELLENT, use Android ... why are you on these forums again? I'm not running around the Android forums talking about how ugly it is.
I have never had any problems with iCloud syncing. Google sync on the other hand, couldn't even keep my contact pictures synced properly. Not to mention it would shrink or delete the contact photos to my Android ICS phone.
Pretty basic features that Google has issues with,
for contacts alone:

Apparently you did not really understand my post. And granted I was a little PO'd when I wrote it.
Functional reduction. Sync services gone (key chain, mail rules, contacts for non "i" devices, book marks), Gallery gone (photo stream not a good replacement), local calendar on anything but 10.6+ or windows vista+ and iphone of coarse. Contacts same as calendars. iDisk storage. I don't even know how to describe my disappointment that they could not merge the data/move data to icloud disk. Although after seeing how this works, and seeing zero usable web interface I am not surprised. Looks would make no difference if it didn't make it less usable.
This along with all the superfluous crap just makes everything that much worse.
Ask yourself how to manage icloud without lion or mountain lion machines. It's not the integration that irritates me. But the expectation is that things should just work and then they don't. Abandoning open standards for no reason is just wrong. Calendars should just work. Mail should just work. I should not have to try and search web forums to try and guess what new server apple is using just so I can use a desktop client in snow-leopard. I do all my production work on a machine that can't be upgraded. So it goes I suppose.
Why am I on here? I don't know why are any of us on here. I have about 6 sites I read daily this is one. I keep up on most things apple and have for a long time. I have spent 1000's of hours helping people with problems on the apple forums. Over the last couple of years I typically am more an observer as my work is more demanding as of late. I only posted because my frustration with icloud has pushed me over the edge. Apple could fix most problem by just providing basic calendar, contact, and mail support in snow-leopard. They have chosen not too. And this feels a lot like the way MS used to treat people. As for android or ios, I use both. Right now i prefer Android to iOS just on a functional level, overall they are both great.
