I honestly didn't care that much about the MMS fiasco until this date came out. I actually think I would have preferred it if they came out and said it had been delayed until late Fall, well actually I would have preferred if no timeframe came out at all.

As we all know, Summer ends on September 22nd ( well, we all should know ) and they promised "Late Summer", I just wonder ... What kind of thing can they do in those three extra days to justify breaking a promise? Just seems like bad business and a slap in the face to me for 3 extra days.

Just my thoughts though, what do you guys think?

Sure, it's annoying, but why whine about it? At least these MMS threads will end. Of course, I can already see the tethering ones coming.

Edit: Forgot to add the sarcastic smileys for emphasis.

I think you've lost your mind. You should find that. It'll come in handy someday. ;)

No but really. MMS threads will not disappear after the 25th. I mean look how much they've picked up since the announcement of the release date. It's like WWDC and AT&T being the ugly red-headed stepchild in the dunce hat seperated from everybody else all over again.

So until the 25th, the talk will be "why are we waiting?" and "AT&T lied!!" and "I wants mai eMeMeS now!!"

After the 25th it'll be a combination of "this rocks" and "this sucks". Just watch.

I slightly agree with the OP. But not really b/c of MMS. I don't really miss it. But this is just something else on the list of failures of AT&T.

They are really really really bad. Really.

Ever work for a big company? They live by intricate schedules, with (usually optimistic) checkpoints and resources all neatly calculated and signed off on.

So... in this case, for whatever reason, the calculations came out to that date. Shuffling it to bring it three days closer, probably won't even occur to anyone in the decision chain.

It's no different than when Apple slips on a delivery date. Or when you tell a friend that you can't help them move apartments for another week.

It's just the way it is. It's nothing personal or intentionally malicious.

But... is it dumb the way it worked out? You bet.

The MMS threads will not go away after the 25th. I'm betting once everyone has it there will be threads about cell towers crashing, files not being downloaded correctly, etc. etc. Mark my words:

It will NEVER end. Never.

Did anyone say it was late fall? Or are you just stating the obvious?

Ummm.... oh nvm, that would be stating the obvious.

Agreed, often release dates are pushed back due to circumstances or glitches. That's just how it is.

I can't WAIT for the rush of threads on how the ancient Aztecs lied to us about the date the world would end, or The doctor lied to me, he said my baby would be born on this date.

If you feel it's a slap in the face, then you've obviously got priority issues.

So in essence, AT&T gave us all a gift. That keeps on giving?

Thank you AT&T.

If you don't like it, cancel your contract and move on. Good god, it's just a phone and just MMS service.

Bad god, its just a forum with discussions. No one told you to open this thread and reply.

On a side note. Maybe MR should create a separate area for MMS threads, then people could ignore them--or people could just ignore them.

The voice of the people is heard and acknowledged.

But is often ignored .... looks at iPhone forum and counts MMS threads... 1,987.. 1,987 threads.. ah ah ah ah ah!.. 1,988.. 1,988 threads... ah ah ah ah!

No.

Besides, AT&T has a better track record than Apple so far... (push anyone?)

That's a very solid point.

However you know most people will argue that AT&T should have been released in the US at the same time it was everywhere else and it's NOT just three days late but three months.

That's pure awesome.

Props for that my friend. Is that really how many threads on MMS there are?
