For fun I turned off the AOD and it increases battery life quite a bit. AOD is neat but it’s fairly pointless IMO. If your wrist is down you can’t see the watch face anyway.

Sound like you're only thinking of times you're walking around with your arm hanging down?

Don't know what your lifestyle might be, but for me AOD greatly adds to the watch functionality. There are tons of instances where it's really convenient to simply glance at my wrist to see the time -- without necessitating any movement or flick of the wrist. Particularly when spending time with my wife or kids and still needing to keep track of the time -- such as when supper's cooking or we need to be leaving to go somewhere.

Each to their own though. The difference perhaps is whether someone used to wear normal watches prior to buying an Apple Watch.

I just noticed that my AW6 drains more battery when I'm at home for a full day compared when I go away.

Why is that?

EDIT:// This is not a problem for me because I still can manage 30-36 h on one charge when home but it's just a peculiar thing I've noticed.
Any chance that while at home your phone spends more time outside of bluetooth range from the watch vs. when you're not home? That'd force the watch to wifi mode, which will use more battery than bluetooth.
