That would be the first store in NJ that I know of that has any pencils. Seems like NYC is getting them instead.
Sure would be nice if they would let you order for pickup on the website so we could actually see if stores near us had any stock without actually having to go there.
It's pretty inexplicable why they don't do that when that's the method for everything else they sell. Think of the hours wasted by everyone here calling and driving to stores miles away. And the time wasted by Apple employees checking inventory.
I wonder if the reason they're not doing it is that they don't want a bunch of people picking up Pencils and then canceling their orders? I don't know; I can't think of another good reason, other than that maybe stock is so sporadic that the website inventory system wouldn't be able to keep up anyway.
I've had Apple employees themselves advising me to do exactly that: place an online order, then cancel it if I'm able to obtain a Pencil before it ships. I think it's more likely that they pulled the feature to correct the "bug" that was causing issues at the midnight launch, and perhaps they've simply left it offline since then to entice people to come into the stores. :\
I emailed Tim Cook asking if he could enable the in-store inventory for the Pencil and Smart Keyboard. Can't hurt right?

Checked the Woodland Mall store (in Grand Rapids, Michigan) and the gal tried to tell me that they're not allowed to disclose if they do / do not have any over the phone. I would like to think I was polite, but pressed her for clarification. She eventually said they didn't have any currently but that they get periodic shipments throughout the day so it's possible that they would have some later.
After talking to several employees, I've been told shipment times vary day to day, but are typically between 8 am and 2pm.
Got an Apple Pencil today at the Leeds store in the UK. They only had one.
Arrowhead Apple Store just got some in when I called at noon. My husband just picked me up one and texted me a photo of him holding a Pencil box. Gonna be a loooooong afternoon while I'm stuck at work, but finally I'll have one to draw with tonight.

Absolutely zero available in the Seattle area. None of the stores have had any in many days, so they tell me. I've been calling about every day for the Pencil and Smart Keyboard. No dice on either count.
