Another pet thing done in procreate. Again not really my usual style but its something I'm planning to get printed as a gift for my sister (the dog in my previous post is for my other sister )

Its been fun doing something different and challenging myself, for the most part. I have definitely not enjoyed trying to paint fur though haha

Very Nice! I don't think anyone on here can match FairycatinPink's work when it comes to the cat fur. I have no clue how she gets such great detail. I like how even though you don't see individual hairs on yours, you did a great job conveying the coloring of the Cat in your own style. You did a great job on the eyes also. I agree, the fur is not fun. lol

Yeah I have no idea how she paints fur, i found it super difficult and spent a fair amount of time just trying to figure out how I could do something realistic looking but in the end had to give up haha. Thanks for the kind words, last couple of things have been tough so the encouragement is much appreciated.

Finally I can go back to drawing human faces and body parts with bold colours haha

I agree, rews does hair pretty nice and I like it too. Cats hair and dogs hair are different, and I think he got good observation on dogs hair.
And rews's cat portrait, he got his/her personality, and I think it's really important part when it come to portraits :)

Happy holiday everyone :)

Thank you :)
Actually there is a reason that cat wearing chicken costume, I'm a Japanese, and we have 12 animals zodiac sign each year. 2017 is bird/chicken year. I send this to my American friends and Japanese friends, that's why the cat is wearing chicken costume :)

Looking forward to see more people sharing their artworks here in 2017!

I'm thinking my cats will want to celebrate by eating chicken, rather than wearing costume. :p

Some amazing artwork on here, showcasing the iPad's abilities and apps on offer. Yeah you can do this probably on other tablets and echo systems but it just shows how great technology is.
Indeed, some amazing talent out there. I may splurge on the Apple Pencil after all :)

I dont believe you are deaf.

I find this odd. Why would you dispute another member's deafness? I hadn't realised your drawing was a sign until he/she commented but now I recognise it: 'I love you'?

I'm a casual BSL user myself, although primarily oral. Severely-profoundly deaf from birth although as I say I can and do sign. Amused at the number of deafies on this board; on most other forums I've been on I'm the only one!

Apologies for going off-thread! Still watching this to see the latest drawings and increasingly excited about getting my own iPP in the spring... (please, Apple).

I haven't been on many other forums, but yes, I notice there are quite a few deaf / hard of hearing posters on here. I have moderate to severe hearing loss in both ears, which wasn't diagnosed until I was in 6th grade. I wish I'd learned sign language, that looks so much easier than trying to decipher spoken speech. Anyway, enough off topic, but thanks for letting me know what that drawing says. I like it even more now that I know!

It took me about 4, 5-7 hour sessions at Starbucks. A little work here and there at home. Initial drawing only a couple hours if that. I can concentrate better at Starbucks, so I go there, because no interruptions like at home. Then I can get more in the zone.

That's why I think I'm slow. Some of these artists on here could probably whip it out in One night. Takes me longer, but I think it goes with my being so hard on myself to get things perfect. A lot of times, trying new brushes or fixing mistakes and Making changes, as I said.

An excellent drawing! I'm sure the client was happy with the finished art.

I'm no visual artist, my stick men are pathetic trust me no exaggeration! I'm not sure if this is good advice but I'll try it in the spirit of helping as it was given to me by a music teacher. Art sometimes is the flow of the creator ... going through each moment. Try to let the art flow through vs making steady corrections to what may be perceived as mistakes. Continue through those mistakes and you might find those mistakes are never noticed and potentially may be viewed as intentional. My evidence - to my untrained eye - picado drawing of that guitar player in blue where his spine looks messed up. ;) try it for a decent drawing of your great caliber I'm curious to see what you come up with and how you perceive the finished drawing. Also to see if it gave you some peace and get into the zone quicker?

If that was garbage advice sorry just ignore it.

Girl,

Incredible work on the nappy yet mixed hair! Best I've seen as my son has this hair (growing up mine was very kinky), but I've not seen this well done in drawings. Great job!!
