I bought the 6s online on Sunday night. I thought it a good bargain 128 gb for the price of the 16 gb phone. In English Pounds a little over £500. I still have an option to cancel.

I'll watch to see the difference in price between the 6s 64gb and the 128gb mentioned above. If the price difference is significant then I'll exercise my right to cancel.

I agree with the other post above about the iPhone 7 not being too likely to have issues, since it's essentially a gen 3 iPhone 6.
My gut tells me the 2017 iPhone will have it's fair share of issues because I am pretty confident that it will be a big change in form factor and it won't compare at all with any iPhone 6.

If one were to buy the 2016 iPhone at the end of the month and sell it next year around this time, what model would have the most resale value? The low end (either 16 or 32 GB whichever is the base model) or middle model? I am thinking more people might be satisfied with the base model if it is 32 GB? The higher capacity models might not be in such demand.

Is there going to be optical image stabilization in the iPHone 7 model (4.7")? If not, forget it. I won't carry a plus sized device no matter how many features it has.

I got both of my 6es at launch and they're still fine. My launch day 5S, on the other hand, had the battery defect that affected phones made in the first ~ three months of production, and my launch day 5 had the touch button defect that plagued early phones.

I agree with the other post above about the iPhone 7 not being too likely to have issues, since it's essentially a gen 3 iPhone 6.
Well you previously had an issue with a new battery, and a home button - the iPhone 7 is obviously going to have a new size battery (they always do) and also has a completely redesigned haptic home button!

It's pretty clear that while the 7 may be cosmetically similar to the 6S on the surface, basically everything inside has changed, including fundamental stuff like the antennas, the buttons, the screen technology etc - I'm not saying that guarantees there will be problems, but I certainly wouldn't presume that it will all be as plain sailing as the 6S.

I'm excited to see what the 7 brings, but quite happy to be on the S cycle for now - my 6S has been perfect as the revised and refined version of the 6, and I'll look forward to picking up a 7S to replace it next year.

I can say with a great deal of certainty, the 2017 iPhone won't be called the 7S. Apple will call it the iPhone 8 or iPhone 7. They may even do away with the the numbering system altogether and call it something completely different.

I can say with some certainty that I don't really mind. If its a 7S in all but name (ie a refined version of the 7 with any hardware bugs sorted) I'll be happy. If they're moving away from that altogether and redesigning everything from the ground up every year then - I guess I'll just take my chances like everyone else.

Exactly my point. Don't know why people keep saying it's the same design..!! It's NOT.

Historically, the base models have the best resell ratio.

Well some very nice stuff in the new 7 an 7 plus but if I wanted to upgrade it would have to be the 7 Plus and I don't want it tied to a carrier so the phone unlocked starts at CAN$1049? That's for the 32GB presumably!

How can it cost as much as in IPP 13"?

The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will both come with 12mp wide angle cameras and optical image stabilization, the iPhone 7 Plus will have an extra 12mp telephoto camera, this dual camera set up will offer optical zoom at up to 2 times and digital zoom at up to 10 times.

During the live Apple event it was implied that the quality could rival DSLR cameras.

Now that the iPhone 7 has optical image stabilization, I'm interested along with the F1.8 lens, for acceptable low light photos. So is the reportedly 2 hour better battery life, which is not insignificant. Should be like the iPhone SE? or just slightly shorter? And double the storage for the same amount of money?

This is not an S year. It has more upgrades than last year.

A10 processor is way faster too.

Man.

For those who don't overly use the camera, will you be upgrading?

I've currently a 6+ and considering waiting for 2017 version it being the anniversary year and the expected major improvements/advancements.

Yeah, it doesn't make any sense but I'm over the denial stage. I went ahead and bought a mint 6S+ for 35% off retail price and will wait and see what this 2017 iPhone brings. I would have waited till September to get a cheaper price on a used 6S, but I thought there might not be many 6S sellers once they see that the iPhone 7 is a glorified 6SS and they'll have no incentive to sell.

Except its just that calling it a 6ss is an illusion and state of mind. It might look like a 6s on the outside but thats just form factor man. Look what hardware you get instead. You're expactations on the form factor are too high given that it changed dramatically with the introduction of 4, 5 but both of them are super crappy compared to what you get in an iphone 7. Its just versioning. They could skip the s thing and bump the number every year but they do this to get into your head. You dont put as much effort into if you are using google chrome 38 or 42.

I just purchased the 6s Plus, briefly considered returning for the 7 Plus but... 64GB suits my needs, I had a Zagg glass screen protector installed & my old Spigen case fits. I also have insurance via VZW so if I drop it in water, lose it or it gets stolen I can get another.

I guess it all depends on how well I feel & if I can up to the hassle of return and preordering I will probably be content till iPhone 8, this 6s Plus is a lovely phone & a definite step up from my 16gb 6 Plus.

However, I am eyeing that new Apple Watch

I'll be sticking with my 6S Plus 64GB... I'm not a heavy camera user... Can't really see what's better on the 7 Plus bar the camera and the colours(the Matt Black does look lovely) :D

I'll see what the prices drop to over the next 3-6months being sold second hand/unwanted upgrades etc OR see what the 8 Plus brings!

Hi! Late to the party, but I'm also hesitating between a 6S or 7 iPhone to replace my aging iPhone 5.

Currently my phone is still working fine and this let me take the time needed to decide which model would be best for my needs. But, the phone is showing its age as battery charge is gradually fading away, and that every iOS update the phone feel more slow. I'm not using many apps on my phone and most of the pictures I take are done when I'm a job site. While I still listen to music with my iPhone (when travelling), I'm not too found of the cheap audio quality of mp3s. So I often listen to lossless, which fill quite rapidely my 32go phone.

I like that the new iPhone 7 is water/dust resistant (job sites are not always the best conditions for phones), but yet my iPhone 5 survived for 4 years... I like the faster A10 chips, the larger storage options, I don't care much about the lack of jack 1/8 port, as I've said earlier it's not my favored way to listen to music anyway. I believe that the iPhone 7 benefits from the latest Gorilla Galss.

On the other hand the 6S would still be a nice improvement over my iPhone 5, and the price may go down a bit.

And as for, why I'm not considering a Galaxy S7 or the like, is that I'm quite used to iOS and like the eased of use (and I must admit that each time I need to configure something on my mom's S4, I find it a pain to do so :p). And my brother have a Windows 10 phone, and the OS was still buggy getting many updates.

So what would you suggest me to go with? I'm still open to other phone, as I'm not aware of all the products out there, and maybe the lates android or Windows iteration are better than the one I was exposed to.

Thanks

My wife is still on a 5 & I'm still on a 5S. We are both getting the 7 on the upgrade every year plan so we can still get the new anniversary phone next year, but we both need to get new phones & it makes no sense to go to the 6S when the 7 is out & we are both coming from the 5 series.
