I have an iPhone 6 128GB and I'm wondering whether to upgrade to the 7 or get the 6S plus. I definitely want a plus this time around.

I can purchase a 128GB 6S Plus from the carphone warehouse here in the UK brand new for £630 or get one used on eBay for £550-£600 then get the 7S or 8 next year. Or do I get the 7 Plus 128GB for £819?

I have a pay monthly sim and purchased my 6 outright last time, so I intend to purchase my next phone outright to.

Can anyone advise ?

Cheers

Do you have a solid reason to go for the plus? If you're used to the 6 then you'll probably find it too big to be honest. Certainly, I won't be able to handle the size. It's too inconvenient with both carrying and storing.

I'd go for the 7 plus if I were you. No point in buying an old phone when the new is already here and especially that camera on 7 plus look sweet.

Yep, buy outright. I'll do the same.

Although, I'd suggest you to have a look at the Apple upgrade program if you're interested. New in the UK.

Can anyone advise ?

Cheers
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the advice! Yeah I wanted the 6 plus originally but ended up getting the 6 as the plus sold out when I came to purchase it on launch day. So want to move from the 6 to a plus model (either 6S plus or 7 plus)

I am so 50/50 right now on what to do. I think if we didn't have the price increases here in the UK I'd be getting it, but then it would have been £789 anyway and £819 is £30 more exensive which isn't a huge amount considering it's expensive anyway. Saying I spent over £800 on a phone just feels horrendous though!

God damn, pre order day tomorrow and I can't make my mind up. Of course, I don't have to pre order tomorrow and could wait a few weeks to decide when they get the next batches of stock in.

What a pickle.

Hi! Late to the party, but I'm also hesitating between a 6S or 7 iPhone to replace my aging iPhone 5.

Currently my phone is still working fine and this let me take the time needed to decide which model would be best for my needs. But, the phone is showing its age as battery charge is gradually fading away, and that every iOS update the phone feel more slow. I'm not using many apps on my phone and most of the pictures I take are done when I'm a job site. While I still listen to music with my iPhone (when travelling), I'm not too found of the cheap audio quality of mp3s. So I often listen to lossless, which fill quite rapidely my 32go phone.

I like that the new iPhone 7 is water/dust resistant (job sites are not always the best conditions for phones), but yet my iPhone 5 survived for 4 years... I like the faster A10 chips, the larger storage options, I don't care much about the lack of jack 1/8 port, as I've said earlier it's not my favored way to listen to music anyway. I believe that the iPhone 7 benefits from the latest Gorilla Galss.

On the other hand the 6S would still be a nice improvement over my iPhone 5, and the price may go down a bit.

And as for, why I'm not considering a Galaxy S7 or the like, is that I'm quite used to iOS and like the eased of use (and I must admit that each time I need to configure something on my mom's S4, I find it a pain to do so :p). And my brother have a Windows 10 phone, and the OS was still buggy getting many updates.

So what would you suggest me to go with? I'm still open to other phone, as I'm not aware of all the products out there, and maybe the lates android or Windows iteration are better than the one I was exposed to.

Thanks
I replaced my iPhone 5 last year with a launch day 6S, and it was a great upgrade. The 6S is obviously a way better iPhone than the 5 in every way and I've no complaints about it at all.

That said, if I were you right now, I would absolutely get the 7. It's better again in every way, and if you go for the older model instead you'll just be swapping one old iPhone for another, and spending another few years wondering if you made the right choice.

You're still rocking a model from 2012, you deserve a NEW phone - pre-order it and live a little.

Agreed. I am in the same situation with the 5. It died so I have no choice. I am trying to convince myself that in 2017 the new iPhone will be so new it may have it's fair share of hardware issues. The 2018 would be a better option....at least that's what I am telling myself. But I keep on arguing in mind, it's true torture. lol
