I heard it will have no display, but will communicate via WiFi 2 directly with your brain. The only thing holding up its release is FCC clearance.

Yeah looks like everyone has been over this question a hundreds times now - the bottom line is that there is no answer, its up to you. Since no-one can tell you what the specs of the new one will even be, and you haven't defined your requirements in your post, I'm not quite sure what you are expecting people to say?
Personally, I say buy it. Just buy the damn thing and be done with it, you won't regret it because it is awesome.

I have an iPod, iPod Touch, iPhone 3GS and also an iPad. I also have a Macbook Pro. iPad fits nicely in between an iPhone Touch and the MBP.
