I think you misunderstand. The walkie-talkie feature you keep referring to is no different than voice iMessages between you and anyone else. It, by definition, does mimic a walkie-talkie so I believe that was the feature being referred to in the announcement.
Nope. Back in September Apple had Walkie-Talkie on there site showing it was separate from messages. I also believe they said it was a watch to watch feature.

Yes. But if you read the picture it says you can read it.

You can in the mail app.

Like on the watch itself? It always tells me the message can't be viewed on my watch that I have to look at it on my iPhone.

There are some emails that can't be read on the watch itself. If it's an html email that doesn't include a simple text version, you can't read it on the watch. But for me that is a very small subset of the emails I receive.

38mm on my 180mm wrist. I'm not looking for the typical big smart watch "look." I could probably pull off the 42mm just as easily, but I don't want to wait for one to come and then have to worry about selling off my 38mm. I'm able to read everything on the screen just fine so I don't really mind the smaller screen.

Okay thank you. That makes sense. ##

38mm SG and I will be switching the band to SGreen soon, next Tuesday to be exact...LOL! Can't wait! Although the black looks nice! The screen is covered with an anti-glare screen protector and I will be receiving a cover for the body today. Others may not like the protectors (not for everyone) but it's a peace of mind for me! I cover all my Apple products!

Legitimate question: were watch cases even a thing before the Apple Watch came out? I've never heard of anyone putting a protective case on a traditional watch (unless you count those rubber bands that went over the face of Swatches).

Prior to the AW I had a couple sport watches, G Shock for the gym/being active and a Nixon/Fossil for anything else.

Now that I want my AW to be my only watch, I welcome cases to provide different looks. Have a Spigen case for the gym. People on here seem to hate it but I think it looks pretty good with my gym attire while also protecting the SS from banging against machines and handles. Already got a few scratches on the SS prior to the case.

I do agree that there are some cases that just don't look great but there are also a ton of third party bands people are using that don't look good. So I'm open to cases as long is it matches the watch and band.

That's a legitimate point. The Apple Watch is most useful if you've got it on you all the time, so switching to a rugged sport watch is not ideal.

I'm just curious if the whole "case culture" of the iPhone has come across to the watch as well. I don't understand the idea of buying what is essentially a piece of jewelry and then keeping it in a case all the time (as opposed to just doing it for certain activities). Reminds me of the people who encase their furniture in plastic.

I'm in the same boat. I prefer the discreet look where it looks more like a band/bracelet as opposed to a screen stuck on to the wrist.
