There's something about these "new" icons that bothers me. Their implementation of color tint and dark mode just looks lazy. Maybe if we got completely new icons that had more depth, it would look better.

Or someone disrespecting the American flag by putting it upside down.Not sure anyone should take advice on matters of "taste" from a Patriots fan.
can someone post a picture if you go to settings, reset, reset Home Screen layout… I always like to see what the default icons look like on the first two pages.
Off topic, but I will clarify:
An upside down American flag is a symbol of distress. Since the subject wanders into political waters, I will leave it at that.
First I’ve put the apps to the corners and left the middle with no apps there and then added the widgets. They perfectly fit now.

While appreciating everyone has different tastes, all one color icons looks terrible and I’m surprised Apple was cool with this, especially considering how long they held off. Tacky at best. I wonder if most people who have a color set now will change it back in time.

It's tricky. You can't really move icons and widgets wherever you want. Whenever you move something the other icons shift so you have to play with it to get a widget in the middle.
Jesus Christ these are all horrendous. What was Apple thinking? This is the FineWoven of iOS updates.
What wallpaper is that, can you share it? Looks like BasicAppleGuy's Autumn, but not quite.
They should have just given us the ability to apply either the same tint to all.. and then apply individual tints to each app to our liking
Here’s mine! I find that personally the tint only really looks good for black and white or dark colored wallpapers
Not only that, on many places you still see the light version instead of the dark.
Spotlight search, recommendations, in settings and so on.
Almost feels like it's a first beta and not everything is ready!
Love the simple look. I'll probably end up doing something like this when I get the time to set it up (been a hectic week so far!). I have a new wallpaper everyday with some photos I've taken over the years. It would be nice to actually see them.
