It can't be Howard no way he would screw his fans I am sure when he gets wind of this it will change:mad: I woke up this morning got app called Sirius added online called back 10 minutes later to cancel

they mentioned the add on yahoo for the app but they just breased over it no mention of his channels not being it, other than that i dont thhink it has been brought up at all.

No Stern= Epic Fail.

Sirius is going to drive themselves out of buisness. The novelty of sat radio is beginning to wane. The need to, at the very least, make their full sream available: including Stern and Sports. With apps like Last.fm, and bluetooth car connectors, Sirius is going to be hard to justify, especially with no Stern. Somebody there needs to wake up and see the emerging technologies. They also need to realize that without Stern, they will crumble overnight.

I was already on the fence about keeping it. This seals the deal for me....

This is an epic fail as far I I'm concerned.

I've noticed Stern has not really talked about the App today (even though it came up once) he seemed to avoid the subject.

yet, in past weeks he has talked about it and almost endorsed that he was excited about it.

This is just silly. Makes me want to unsubscribe from sirius just for being dumb.

maybe a howard stern app is coming?

And we cant complain about this since the app is free, I can see them doing a thing where the make a sirius premium app that is 4.99 or 9.99, they prob dont have everything worked out with contracts for mlb and others..

That would be cool but to launch like this, then get people all up in arms over the web (maybe some 10 million stern listeners) is a dumb business decision.

BUT, if they do plan a stern app, which is a killer idea, that would be great.
Just dumb to launch like this if that is the case.

If the app included Stern I would have bought it without a second thought. But I read, while it was in development, that he wouldn't be included, so I knew not to even be looking forward to it.

If Stern or SiriusXM had worked out a deal, even a higher price for the app, I would have bought it. Too bad for Howard/Sirius/XM.

NOOOOOOOOoooooooo.

I immediately downloaded and upgraded to the Premium streaming (I was still on the free streaming because my account isn't due until the end of the year). Now there's no Stern?!?!

EPIC FAIL! That's not even strong enough. This is completely unacceptable. At least I still have Pocket Tunes Radio, but the rationale of "payment" or "Apple and smut" have to be incorrect. Sirius already streams the Stern show from the web (and it works fine in Pocket Tunes Radio), and the SiriusXM app already has stations like Raw Dog and Playboy.

Calling Sirius now...

I'm infuriated at this!!!!!

I called, they had no clue that was even the case. Lemmie know what you find out though.

People still listen to Howard? He hasn't been good since the early 90s. Siriusly! :D

Read the frequently asked questions,

Why don't certain channels appear on my iPhone/ipod touch?
Sirius/XM offer all of the channels for which we have mobile performance rights. For that reason, certain channels which may be available on your satellite radio or online radio service may not be available on a mobile device like the iPhone.

It's Howard. Son of a Bitch....
He better be working on his own app, and he better announce it Monday.

its a shame that this app is geting bad reviews just cause all the howard stern fans he is a Moron anyway its a shame that he has a big following group to anyway i still think this is a good app.

You have satellite radio because of Stern. Otherwise you would have equipment that makes a great paper weight. You maybe need to re-think WHO is the moron.

its strange that his channels were left out because he seemed to be all for it when the starplayr app was being talked about. I dont think it was really even mentioned today except for it being advertised on the yahoo page.

I highly doubt it's Howard. He has said on numerous occasions, when the subject is brought up, that he wants people to be able to stream his show on their phones.

I have a feeling it has something to do with Apple censoring it.

I'm from Sweden and I was planning on buying the Sirius app just because of Howard Stern. Now, I guess I won't.

Then why can I listen to the "Playboy" channel, and "Raw Dog". If apple was censoring, then all the foul mouthed rap stations and Playboy and Raw Dog would not be available. They are in the app. It has to be Howard and obtaining "mobile rights". Howard better be developing his own app. No mention of any of this today on the show or the wrap-up show. Other than there is an app now when the Yahoo guy came on for a brief time.

Because I don't think even Playboy or Raw Dog come close to the Stern show in terms of vulgarness. Last time I checked, neither of those two stations play clips from porno movies or feature girls riding the Sybian. My guess is that's what Apple has a problem with, and Apple can go f themselves if that's why there's no Howard.

I love all these people who think Sirius/XM purposefully left off their favorite channels (Howard, NFL/MLB Audio broadcasts). You don't think Sirius wants to include them to increase their listener base?

The answer is very simple, and has been pointed out numerous times. Sirius/XM does not have the LEGAL right to offer these channels under the terms of their contracts with Howard or the NFL or MLB. Music/performance rights, like most copyright use agreements, are highly specific on the MEDIUM through which you may use the rights you are licensing. It appears that when Sirius signed up Howard, Howard did not authorize Sirius to provide his content on mobile phones. The Starplayr and Pocket Radio examples are different as both were essentially simple extensions of the web streaming by THIRD parties. NOT BY SIRIUS.

So get a grip. If you want Howard on the iPhone app, push Howard to license those performance rights to Sirius. You'll never get MLB or NFL to license live play-by-play as both will have their own apps to do so (MLB already does).

(And yes, I have professional experience in this setting....)

My iPod Touch is not a mobile phone and when docked to an iHome unit, not very mobile. The app does not even install on it. The app requires a newer generation two model.

uh try again i have Sirius cause of the sports and music i could give a Rats A$$ about stern

OMG, Stern is the King of All Media and being king understands how to manipulate media and you dont see how?

He doesnt want to sign off without a couple of more bucks or whatever the reason... they don't wanna play ball then he's gonna get the audience on his side. He'll tell ya how excited he is that the app is coming out and how it will increase his audience and get everyone mouth watering and talking and wanting.

And then if the deal doesnt go through and the App comes out without Howard, he doesnt have to do anything. Just let the fans stir it all up, "No howard, big failure!" blah blah blah. Still waiting for the execs to buckle and pay up.

XM has paid up so much to alot of people that their so in the red. Time for howard to get on the ball and start helping Sirius after all the cash they've paid him.

He's getting old... cant he understand that with worldwide access through iPhones, he can be King of all media again before they put him in the home.
