So wiping off with a microfiber cloth has been sufficient so far for you? Are fingerprints just a quick wipe or does it take some effort?

Yes, they are a fairly quick wipe. Easier than the screen fingerprints at this point.

IMG_0473.JPG Had my JB iPhone 7 since Friday morning. No scratch so far. The back is a finger print magnet, but based on my experience, no more than the front screen. To an extent I agree with the earlier poster that it cleans itself every time when you put it on and take it out of your pocket.

To save yourself from exertion, toss it in the dishwasher.
Well it is water resistant so it should be fine...right?

I ask because my iPad Pro didn't seem to wipe off prints as easily as past phones/iPads so I'm happy to hear this doesn't seem to be the case here.

Good to hear! I was a little concerned from the one YouTube guy that wiped the phone on his shirt and a "particle" scratched it. So if taking out of your pockets are proving effective, then that's good news.

Thinking of just going naked on the JB which arrives in early October. Smudges/fingerprints do not really bother me, and I wonder how obvious/visually appalling tiny scratches could look like?

Photos would be incredible if anyone has any to share.

Got a Jet Black iPhone 7 on launch day. I'm not using a case with it. I love it! Looks gorgeous and feels really nice in the hand because the finish is very grippy.

The aluminum finish has held up really well, and has no scratches at all. The antenna lines, which are polished to match the aluminum, are actually very scratched. I have never set the iPhone down on a hard surface and have kept it only on microfiber cloths or my pocket. The antenna line scratches must be from putting the iPhone in and out of my pockets.

That being said, the back of the iPhone is so shiny, it's difficult to find scratches unless you are really looking. I still love this finish, even with some scratches. It's gorgeous.

A reviewer who throws it around hardly constitutes real world usage compared to many owners who rock their iPhones naked and take better care of their devices.

That's my thought too, but this could be a good example of usage 2+ months from now without any sort of protection. I don't plan on using a case and I'm betting that the scratches are only visible in direct light and <12" away from the eyes. Still though... I'm trying to be realistic.

Not for many owners who rock it naked and are normally careful with their devices. My glossy "jet black" iPhone 3G series and glossy black iPhone 4 series looked nothing like that even after a year.

I can pretty much guarantee you my JB won't look like that after a couple of months.

I initially bought skin from Slickwraps. They taking forever to ship so I decided to go completely naked and just bought apple care plus and rocking a tempered glass so I can place my phone facing down at tables. So far just little micro scratches that you only can only see through the reflection of the light, other than that , the phone looks sexy af.

Had my jet black 7+ for literally 5 hours and there are already some very fine and small scratches on the back. No case and I've literally put it in an empty pocket twice. Looks like it really does scratch easily.

Well see how it looks in a week or so and then I'll decide if I should return it or not.

Your iPhone has some scratches? Fascinating. Read: no one cares.

Nobody will notice. No one will care, ever.

Resale value? The amount of time you spend obsessing over this nonsense, along with the money you throw away on screen protectors and other junk, will never, ever be recouped when you sell used. For example, right now the cash price difference between a "flawless" unlocked iPhone 6+ and a merely "good" unlocked iPhone 6+ with scratches is a measly $25 on major reseller websites. Even thinking about it is a massive waste of time, from an economic point-of-view. I say again, you will never, ever recoup the time and money you waste obsessing over this issue, because the price differential between used iPhones isn't worth the sustained time, money, and effort.

And if you are this concerned about a microscratch on a phone, you need to set some priorities -- because microscopic marks on an iPhone isn't one.

Duh you decided to go naked and bought Apple care plus yet you ruined your experience with a glass protector? Go completely naked or go home!!
