I think it's just that Samsung seemingly wants to capitalize off of Apples momentum. I get it, they all borrow from one another. But in the case of Samsung it's ironic because they spend so much money and marketing either bashing or comparing their phones to iPhones directly. It's basically in most of their commercials and advertising. So to then borrow or imitate things from the iPhone it can seem a little tongue in cheek.

Most of the stuff Samsung is advertising of their devices, the iPhone doesn't even have.

Yeah so they just happen to decide to bring it back in 2015 after apple comes out with it, wake up. I don't care if they copy each other but if you don't think Samsung does stuff when apple does your blind. Try not to be such a big fanboy.

But but but wait!!!

Samsung made a pink gs5,pink note4 and now a pink gs6!

it may seem like Sammy is challenging the Rose Gold this time around (and they may very well be), but as far as the Note series go, they've always had a pink version (as far as I recall) which didn't always release at launch. they've been known to release different variants later, and often times dependent on market and even carrier - Active versions, pink versions, N4 edge version, N4 LTE-A version. it's especially true because of the way the many Android models aren't as universal as iPhones are.

4?

So apple copying the smaller tablet with the iPad mini is a "4" in your scale while samung re-releasing a color they've already had many times before after apple popularizes said color deserves the same score?

A color they've had before versus an entire segment of tablets which -- reminder alert! -- apple proudly proclaimed they would never get involved in. That's all the same? That invokes the same level of sadness? Copying the timing of a color they've had before versus copying an entire tablet segment they claimed they'd never get into. In other words, based on your criteria of measuring sadness, the color pink is as big of a feature as the concept of smaller tablets. And a color that's only being released, as far as I know, in south Korea!

Wow. Like I said, how understanding you can become depending on which way the copying goes.

Bias, indeed. But hey, again, they're your feelings. Guess you can't help them.
Dude, calm down! You're gonna have a heart attack! They're my biased opinions as I've already admitted, so yeah, can't help them.

Well the Note 5 isn't a bad smartphone. The camera in particular is (besides for ultra low lighting conditions) a lot better than the one in the iPhone 6s.

Problem is, it still runs Android.
And if you're not fond of Google's data mining and the generally bad update policy of Android devices, you better avoid those.

If Samsung would start improving Tizen and put it in their flagships, I probably would consider it as alternative.

There's been a history of Samsung trying to mock iPhones. When Samsung used to have removable batteries, sd card slots, the headphone jack moving to the bottom on the 5. You know, things Samsung basically mimicked later with the s6.

Samsung is so in your face when it comes to comparing to iPhone that when they adopt a feature or whatever after a successful iPhone launch, it looks like following. It's not really about following a color, it's viewed as riding the coat tails of the company you always bash in commercials.

The iPhone basically comes out once a year, at about the same time lately, mid-late September. You see Samsung release what like 6-7 models, push the note 5 release up before the iPhone launch, and now they're releasing a pink gold version less than 2 months after the rose gold iPhone. Now they're trying to push the s7 into January. It looks desperate.

What's so ironic is that history is showing it's actually helping apple with free advertising.

Such futility for such an insignificance.

All designers, all artists, all writers, all creators seek and find inspiration in existing natural and man made things. All take, analyse, dissect and reinterpret others creations. They all copy and are inspired to remake in their own image.

Such asinine bickering simply because of some unrequited brand allegiance is just moribund.

Customers are the beneficiaries here. Those determined to get a Note 5 at some point are unlikely to have been persuaded by a Pink iPhone and vice versa. But it does give those customers a new colour choice and that's it. No drama. No end of the world scenarios. No need to perpetuate more juvenile bickering on forums over such absolute insignificance.

If your troubled truly by this, i would gladly trade places with you - if the only stress factors affecting your life are the colour of a feckin phone or point scoring in some endless twilight zone-esque episode.

End of.

Fair enough you win this round LOL. From what it sounds like Samsung maybe didn't advertise the pink until the rose gold iPhone came out because I never saw it before. That said I don't work at T-Mobile so I'm sure I haven't see a lot of stuff.

You didn't see them because they were not advertised in US. Just like gold color, they sold them long before Iphones but only in Asia.
From the OP's link
Though the announcement only pertained to South Korea, a Samsung spokesperson told CNET that "the introduction of new colour variations for the Galaxy Note 5 will gradually be expanded to other Asian countries but release details are still being worked out."

We need to let out all our frustration about Samsung and Apple in this thread.

That's what it ultimately comes down to, even for me, though I'm one of the few who will actually admit it.
To be fair, some people (myself included) are actually bothered by things like this, just like I'm bothered when Apple releases products that are not at their full potential (or "half-baked" as many would say, perfect examples being the iPhone 6 with 1GB of RAM or the iPad mini 3 in general). That's just the way some of us are: we like to give companies a hard time with the decisions they make because we want the best products they can possibly produce and we also like to give them a hard time when they take inspiration from other places. That's part of human nature. How do the smarter kids feel when other kids copy their test answers? I doubt they feel flattered, just like I doubt Apple felt flattered when all of their competitors' smartphones became multi-touch or Samsung when they saw all of their competitors' smartphones started having larger screens.

I'm confused why no one else has realized he's just trolling.
Soooooo has anyone reported it as trolling?

Samsung are so blantant with their copying. They are also working on their version of 3d touch. Its not they cant do it but they always do it 1 week after the Apple version. It was the same with the gold colour. At least introduce it for the new model. Doing it for the existing model is pathetic. But then 95% of Samsung phones are pathetic.

Samsung would probably sell more phones if they more widely offered their Titanium silver colour instead of focusing on Apple.

But the usual lot on here will ask for proof, links blah blah.
You do realize Samsung released pink phones before Apple did right? Just look a few posts above this one for visual proof. So who copied who?

No one here has or is saying that. We are responding to a bogus claim that Samsung copied Apple by releasing a pink phone. When in fact Samsung has had pink phone models since at least 2007.

It's beyond me how the Mods haven't closed or cleaned up this thread but yet they closed a thread titled "Show off your new device."
yeah the only intent of this thread was to enflame others. I have seen moderation for a lot less. I even asked for it to be closed for what it is....yet nothing
