Man... These recent iOS updates have been making me nostalgic for the Scott Forstall days.

At least he only screwed up once. I love Craig but iOS has been nothing but bugs since Forstall left (same goes for OS X).

I'm not upgrading ****. The OS you buy your device (whether mac or iOS) with, that's the OS it was made for so keep it.

You're wrong, and lying about lag. If your iDevice is lagging, it's purely because you can't set up and use a smart phone or table. Where did this herd urge to label Apple products as trash and label other users as liars or handicapped come from?

Handicapped? Are you trolling or just not with it? I have never once described anyone as handicapped -- so don't go there. All I have said is that some people don't notice or don't care about the lag - so get your facts straight.

Lying about lag? For what reason? Apple is my favourite tech company. It's people like you who deny any issue who end up making the company worse. And I can't set up a smartphone or "table"? (I'm assuming you mean tablet). Erm, okay buddy. By the looks of your lexicon you type like a 13 year old, so don't come at me, okay? :)

I don't think Apple products are trash. If I thought that, I wouldn't use them and I would just outright say "I think Apple products are trash". I don't mince my words. I am just disappointed with the quality control over the past few years, and people who cannot realise that.

Honestly when you said 15-20fps I was expecting it to be much much worse. That is almost unnoticeable, I see some fps loss in your video but it's not through the entire animation. Is it full 60fps? I wouldn't say so, at least not in the whole animation, but that is definitely not super choppy or 15fps as claimed to be.
Its hard to tell in the video. But why does everyone think that it literally has to be considered 5-10 FPS before its considered "slow"? I can assure you its definitely not anywhere near 30 FPS.

I don't see an issue. My 5s did same over a year ago and I passed it as to how I swiped upwards/downwards as my fault not the iOS and it was not on iOS 9. Just as nice today with 9.0
Congratulations , I guess the Apple kool-aid has made its way into ones veins when they say "its my fault" its choppy or "im swiping it wrong". Maybe a job in Apple PR is in your future. :)

Take a look at these numbers and tell me if I'm missing something: http://arstechnica.com/apple/2015/09/ios-9-thoroughly-reviewed/8/#h1

Well yeah.

Doesn't mean it performs faster though.

From Apple's website:

Faster and more responsive.
The apps in iOS 9 now take advantage of Metal, making more efficient use of the CPU and GPU to deliver faster scrolling, smoother animation and better overall performance. Email, messages, web pages and PDFs render faster. And multitasking features on iPad feel fluid and natural.

What a bunch of lies.

Listen guys...

Tell me what I can do to my iPhone 6 to get it to perform the same way it does on 8.4.1, but on 9.0 instead. Let me know.

Also, for those of you with an iPhone 6 (not 5s or 5) please try to take a video of your flawless lag free iPhone. How can 8.4.1 run so great, but not 9.0 yet some people actually said 9.0 made things smoother for them?

So the fast phones slowed down and the slow phones sped up???

You seem extremely threatened by the idea that other people might have different opinions or experiences. You blow in here yesterday and sling things at everything that displeases you and everyone who disagrees with you. Those of us who are so inadequate that we can't realize that you're right humbly apologize. And your ad hominem crack about vocabulary is a mystery. If you want a venue for rants, you might consider setting up a blog, rather than signing up for discussion fora.

I've tried iOS 9 Public and 9.1 Beta 1. It's is absolutely perfect, no lag anywhere, whatsoever. Try reinstalling OS, setting up as new or something, because your experience should be flawless.

Even older iPhone 5 is running great, 60FPS everywhere. CC, NC and Spotlight are opening smoothly. There's no lag after pressing on an app to open it.

Iphone6 , set up as new + apps install etc.

Safari is open in multitasking. Opening again , noticable delay. Pressing home buton to close it, almost 1sec delay before closing animation.

There is something else going on here. I installed iOS9 on just an iPad Mini 3 and an iPad 4.
On the Mini, Safari is running very sluggish and anything that is photo / video intensive has a very choppy load (page down .... loads, page down .... loads). Seeing the same in Email - select email ... loads.
Very strange.

I read tech forums and tech blogs all the time. In fact I have written for one on a few occasions.

If one iPhone 6 cannot run an app another iPhone 6 can (assuming locations are the same etc.), it's defective. End of conversation. Two FULLY FUNCTIONING versions of the same iOS device, with the same software and state, will run near enough identical. Near enough, at least, when it comes to smoothness/lag.
Sorry but you are just wrong. So in my example, anyone whose iPhone running iOS 9 cannot use the WhatsApp app that is made for iOS8 and earlier and not supported officially on iOS9 their device is defective? I guess we can just agree to disagree.

It basically talks about threads like this with anecdotal reports and basically only saying that "some" devices are affected by this--basically what a lot of people have been trying to point out in the face of some saying that everyone has the same problems.
Everyone's iPhone 6 Plus has stutters in the same places throughout the OS. I'll post a video later. I'd also like to see people who claim their 6 Plus (or another idevice) runs perfectly smoothly upload a short video as well.

The 6+ stutters, lags and freezes at random moments even with iOS8, the software it shipped with. So knowing that, I cannot imagine how it could suddenly be 'buttery smooth' with a new iOS update that many with different models of iPhone are complaining has inherent lag. If anything I expect the 6+ to lag like a mofo.

I put my iPhone 5C on low battery mode and it made it smooth again. Based off what low power does according to description from Apple, and my visual confirmation, the zoom in and out of apps and folders still works but the parallax is COMPLETELY turned off. Remember when that was an option back in iOS 7.0? (Since then, you can turn off motion on the wallpaper but the icons/wallpaper still have a slight parallax. That always bugged me)

Does low power work for you like it did for me?

The reason I'm updating to the 6s plus from the 6 plus, is just for a lag free experience.

If it has the lag people are reporting on iOS 9, I'm returning it and keeping my 6 plus on 8.4.

I just hope the extra ram and spec in the 6s solve the lag problem.

I noticed horrendous lag for roughly the first 24 hours. Just when doing normal stuff - switching apps, scrolling in any app, launching an app. I was, shall we say, disappointed. Well I kind of forgot about it until I spotted this thread. I realized that I think it's stopped.

Given the new Siri/Search/Spotlight I wonder if it was doing serious indexing (probably covered this before, didn't read much of the thread). I have a 128GB 6+. If I see it flare up again I'll try to figure out if there's a pattern.

I wonder if it's related to face searching in photos? I have a 10,000+ photo library, which is largely... maybe partially tagged with faces. But I could do Siri searches like, "Show me pictures of John in Colorado from 2012" and it responded remarkably quickly.
