okay for those who have seen the keynote and are skepticle and who have an Iphone... give us litterally one reason why we would want one of these 500$ units? oh and we have a laptop and a desktop...

I am exactly in this position. I got one because I really like it as an internet pad and mobile tv device. it has so many auxiliary uses that I know ill find a billion uses for it. there are many times I would take this on vacation rather than a laptop. this will not replace a laptop however so if you need to do a serious amount of work it ain't happening. basically I got it because I could afford it and it would make my life easier enough to justify $500, don't misunderstand me though this is 100% a luxury device to me.

EDIT: I too am a little bit disappointed in it's speed. It's just not as fluid as my 3GS. Not a deal breaker for mr cause of jailbreak but meh kinda annoying

If and when this gets multitasking, it could be a decent replacement for imy MacBook. I'm loving it, it's a fantastic product.

Seriously? What are you trying to do when it is slower than the 3GS? Countless reviews and posts are going on and on about how lightning fast the device is. Many have even said how "fluid" it is, while you say the opposite. Based on reviews, other user posts and hands on videos, have you considered the possibility that there's something wrong with your device?

My only gripe.....I cannot download pokerstars.com.

I guess flash is the other gripe.

Other than that, THIS THING IS HOT!!!

Probably the coolest thing I've ever bought -except for the bugatti I got in my dreams.

Proudly sent from MY iPad....

Now I have to update my signature!

I'm disappointed I did not do In-Store pickup on my preorders. As of this moment UPS still has not slid my way. If you really wanna see disappointing, check the video for the JOOJOO ipad clone, has flash, but check the small keyboard and full screen Chop-O-Rama video

Apps

We need more apps the iPhone ones huts don't cut it! I'm a little disappointed
Do to lack of iPad apps at launch!

sorry let me rephrase that. the device itself is blazing fast it however does not have the RAM to support all it's functions. Sites have to reload all the time in safari when switching tabs. I'm not saying i don't love the device I'm just saying it's not perfect. and it's totally fixable through jailbreak or apple updates (better memory usage)

I'm disappointed that I can't convince my wife to throw away a six year old laptop for this. She literally will not give the new iPad a chance. I will be hiding the laptop.

I really didn't know what exactly to expect in speed but it blows away anything I've ever messed with. It's VERY slick! I'm not regretting it at all considering my wife ALMOST went and picked up a crappy net book before I convinced her to wait.

That's a great point, but I'm wondering if the problem doesn't lie within the Safari browser. I've had similar issues since the latest update with Safari on my MacBook Pro???

Anybody got the Apple case??

Is it worth the money?? Is having a case is a must for propping up??

I thought i was going to be disappointed and wasn't that excited at first but now that I've been playing with it for a couple of hours I think it's great! As soon as people start playing with their friends or relatives iPad they're going to want one also. A year from now Apple may rule the world.

It's darn near perfect. Typing on it will take some getting used to, but it works nicely.

My only concern is fingerprints, man this thing shows every single one.

And yes, this was typed on mine.

Not disappointed in the least! I'm so loving it!

When they said you had to actually use it to understand they were definitely right. Once you actually start using it it feels so natural and you wonder how you ever will surf the web again using a mouse.

I also am loving the iPad optimized apps, especially USA Today, which I think is a model of how newspapers should set up their apps.

Also, I used my iphone after using the iPad and it will be very hard for me to surf the web or use apps on that little iphone screen after using the big ipad one. The big screen makes all the difference!

My first post on macrumors from my iPad!

I am disappointed I did not get one and won't be for a while.

I am disappointed that sand under the glass, yellowing, mini micro cracks or any other collective unconscious non-defect defect has not surfaced yet.

I have one legit gripe.

I think the dock connector should have been on the side or they should have put in a 2nd one.

It'd be really nice to have it in landscape mode when in the dock and showing pictures while it charges.

Hopefully a 3rd party case can solve that.

Was so disappointed when it was first announced by Steve.
But having one in my hand changed all that. Simply Amazing!
