Was so disappointed when it was first announced by Steve.
But having one in my hand changed all that. Simply Amazing!

yes, the reality distortion field is a powerful force! I bet you hardly notice the lack of flash or multitasking, now that you have one, huh?

I gotta say, I am not at all disappointed. When they say magical they mean it. This device just feels so natural, everything about it just makes sense. Surprisingly to even me, typing is a breeze. Don't get me wrong you aren't going to type a novel on this thing, but short things, including this post are no problem. Typing already feels natural and I'd say I am pretty speedy.

My only disappointments are with the initial apps, the potential is their, but nobody has really captured what all the iPad can be, i sm looking forward ti seeing developers mature. Aside from that, multitasking is my only gripe. This thing flys, there is no way it would have an issue with multitasking.

Bottom line, this device has already Done most of my daily computing, and i for one have not once in the hours of browsing needed flash. :) this device is something new, Apple has a home run as far as I am concerned.

I'm seeing this sentiment a lot and find it VERY interesting because it was just what Stephen Fry said when he got to play with one briefly after the keynote. Basically that it was only when people really got to use it that they'd start to understand what Apple had really done here and that does seem to be the case. It also suggests that this is going to be a device that'll sell VERY well on word of mouth and that Apple are really going to shift a lot of 'em to people that happen to use one in their stores.

Heh, also quite funny seeing the trolls that have been obsessed with the iPad for the last few months now getting roundly ignored once the devices are being used. Always brings a smile to the face when that happens :D

I love it! Not disappointed one bit and it's great for typing especially with the apple cover that allows you to prop it up at an angle. Typing this from my iPad. It's great for surfing sites like this too. :D

If I had to reach for one thing that has disappointed me, it's that not all project Gutenberg books are in iBooks. For example they have lots of novels by Henry James on pg but in the iBooks store you only see the must-pay-for version.

Other than that I think it is gadget 7th heaven. It truly is beautiful and so much fun to use!! I suspect this will be my computing device that will get the most use on a day-to-day basis.

Multitasking would be nice to have but I haven't much thought "Oh I wish I could run these two apps together" today. All the apps launch instantly (Unless it is a game) and save their state so the effect of not having it is minimized. Trust me, i'm on my macbook right now with 7 programs open with about 15 tabs in chrome making around individual windows spread across 3 different spaces. So I use my multitasking.

I've notice the lack of flash when trying to look at the trends graph on Mint.com. I can access all my other data other than that. Personally I have never liked ever since the days of Myspace and the auto-playing music on peoples pages. Plus when running all of my programs on my Macbook I have to be sure to close all pages with flash after opening them as they end up sucking ram.

The iPad would seriously be a perfect device with some basic multi-tasking. It would also be nice to have tabs rather than separate windows in Safari, but it still works.

I played around with the WiFi model at the Apple Store today -- I was skeptical, but the iPad kinda rocks. I think I'm going to get the 3G model when it comes out.

Unexpectedly, the on-screen keyboard is perfect for thumb-typing in portrait mode. I have large hands, though -- so your mileage may vary.

I think this device could truly be a game changer if it gets integrated into the business world. I'm already wishing someone would write an app that would give me access to court documents so that I could replace my piles of case jackets with one iPad when i do my morning court dockets.

I am 99% satisfy. the 1% is it is pretty heavy after holding it for a while and I don't like the shiny screen. even my macbook pro, I order the non shiny one

I'm disappointed that my friends who said this was all hype just look like even bigger fools. I might have even lost some respect for them.

The iPad rocks. :apple:

So true. This is really a device you have to use before making any serious opinions. It's far from a big Ipod touch.

Loving my iPad.

The acid test

Play over 2 hours with my ipad, it's over my initial expectations.

My father in law (+70 years old) touches a computer today for the first time in his live (he only see the screen when we are using our computers).
He wants purchase a new one with 3G. (now I have a problem, hehehe)

It's amazing. I can't believe it.

One thing that bothered me so much about the iPad is that Apple stops supporting traditional Chinese input on the iPad, while my iPhone types perfectly with handwriting recognition. Why? I don't know.

The only multi tasking that I think is missing would be something like Pandora. Everything else you can pretty much be instantly in (e.g. twitter) with the click of the home button and click on the app icon.

I even discovered (probably well known) that any downloads in iTunes will download in the background regardless of what you are doing. I was downloading a 395MB file, popped out of iTunes and into Safari and it downloaded in the background without a hitch.

wow! that's pretty shallow of you! everyone has to think like you or they aren't worthy of respect, eh??
