The problem is too many people have access to Beta’s who don’t actually report bugs and only want it so that they receive the new version of iOS before anyone else.
I wish you didn't have to be in the beta program to use the feedback tool to report bugs. I was reporting them until it got to the point where I was rarely receiving acknowledgment and the betas were so bad it was taking away from my work.

There is. Please stop minimizing this. iOS 16 is a mess. First it was the draining battery, now fast charge doesn’t even work. Then on my new iPhone I got a blank screen. The wifi couldn’t be connected so Apple had to release a quick fix. The cameras don’t work.

This is just bad across all places
Wait, an iOS release had battery drain issues? WTH? Are you sure this was documented somewhere? 🙄

Why should anyone have to report bugs? The trillion dollar company can look for and fix bugs by themselves, can they not?
You should add a "/s" or 😉 or 🙄 {see above}, otherwise someone might think you are being serious.

I am so glad i am too broke to afford this phone at launch. I am still rocking my 11 Pro Max 256 gig and the battery health is 80%. I used to try to upgrade every year, but there has been no real major reason too. Now, between this, unable to transfer data between phones, and the camera issues, i got no problem in the slightest waiting until after the holidays, if at all. Shame my Trade in Value will go down, but what good is it if i get a phone with all these issues?
Being on the internet all the time convinces people that all these issues are happening to everyone all the time. I have an iPhone 14 pro and have experienced none of these issues. They are happening but it’s not as big of a deal as the contest article updates suggest.

So since it’s not happening to you it’s not that big of a deal? Loool

I’m having this in my 14 Pro. I was also unable to receive an AirDrop from my wife’s 12 Pro.

I love how some people can always find a way to redirect blame onto users instead of developers or tech corporations.

I’m assuming they are shareholders or work at the company. Otherwise I don’t understand why would anyone defend a corporation like they owe them something

There have been so many issues with iphone 14 release, I think Apple will force their employees to go back to the office now
How would programming at home - with presumably peer reviews and testing - be any different than sitting at an office desk doing the same thing?

It's more likely Apple has ridiculous deadlines and stuff is being fast-tracked to meet them. Time to stop the yearly OS launches and make them bi-annual.

Same happened on my 14 Pro Max when I tried to move a 4GB ProRes to an iPad Pro, AirDrop failed. So with no USB-C, no WiF6E and now a flawed AirDrop, perhaps Apple should cut down on touting the ability to capture 4K ProRes video if there’s going to be complications transferring the files.

Fixed. Welcome.
How does this help stockholders. They are the ones most interested in LONG term growth since dividends are now rare. Honestly - what stockholder wants the reputation of their investment to suffer?

Perfectly timed, after the article about Lightning still only working at USB 2.0 speeds on a phone with potentially monstrously-large image files.

A bunch of people said “Use airdrop” and apparently Apple’s own response, or expectation, is that users do wireless transfers with wifi and airdrop… and now we see how unreliable it is.

Thing is, I’ve NEVER been able to rely on airdrop. It’s literally not supported between iOS and High Sierra, and on DEFINITELY supported systems, it still fails to work reliably (such as between my new iPhone SE3 and my girlfriend’s 1-year-old MacBook Pro with current Mac OS), often requiring one OS or both to be restarted. I’ve also had it fail to work with my parents’ up-to-date iPhones and between my own up-to-date iPhone and iPad (well, up-to-date before iOS 16).

Apple’s software quality has been going downhill since 2013, but their networking has always been anywhere from unreliable to outright broken.

Between Mac & Windows, between Mac & Mac of different OS versions, between Mac & Mac of same OS versions, and over both wifi and Ethernet.

To this day I still have two identical Mac OS installs that only work one way with certain shares and certain shares aren’t even visible, depending on whether High Sierra or Snow Leopard are running on one end or the other (yes, I’ve made sure the appropriate SMB versions are running).

No, none of this is because I’m on older Mac OS versions. EVERY version of Mac OS I’ve used is like this, and that includes current versions on other people’s newer hardware.

No, Microsoft isn’t winning in this space either: every version of Windows I’ve used over my lifetime has also had piss-poor networking. Don’t even suggest Linux at me.

The ones who don’t give a rat’s ass about the products, only their stock portfolio performance. As in, the ones who are major holders. The piddling smaller holders who are actually fans of a company, who give a damn about the company’s products, don’t have enough shares to matter.

The other problem being that fixing bugs was clearly not a priority this release.

This was a flashy, half thought out release that had to be rushed out on their artificial timeline.

It’s clear they spent too much time hiding the hole punch by reinventing notifications rather than fixing basic issues.

And they’re just going to do it again next year.

Eve Jobs maybe?

Seriously... reputation? lol, that ship has sailed long ago my friend. Not gonna go through every questionable thing Apple has done under Cook, but maybe you can think of at least one 😉
Apple with Tim at the helmet plays profit at any cost, Stockholders love that. So bottom line, profit first, the rest follows, reputation included.

Jobs was a product first guy.

iPhone 14 ate my homework

The iPhone 14 gave me a disease. From a toilet seat.

See, the iPhone 14 gave the toilet seat the disease, and then the toilet seat gave it to me.

What a toilet getting a disease from a phone might look like.

AirDrop is not functioning as intended on some iPhone 14 models, according to numerous reports on the MacRumors forums and from MacRumors readers about the issue. When attempting to send a file from an iPhone 14 to the iPhone of a contact, affected users are not able to get the transfer to complete.

airdrop-bug-iphone-14.jpg

A file sent to a contact shows a "Waiting" message indefinitely, with the person on the other end not receiving a message to accept the AirDrop transfer. From MacRumors forum member Bexx:

The problem appears to be with the iPhone 14 models rather than iOS 16, but it is possible that some people running iOS 16 could also be experiencing issues. At the current time, we've only heard reports from iPhone 14 owners.

As noted on the forums, there is a partial workaround that can be used. To send a file to a contact, AirDrop settings must be changed to "Everyone" rather than "Contacts." AirDrop settings can be accessed by opening up the Control Center and long pressing on the top left block. Tap on "AirDrop" and then choose the "Everyone" option.

Unfortunately, this workaround is not compatible with password sharing, as sending a password to another person requires both participants to have each other's contact information saved in the iPhone. From MacRumors reader Patrick:

Apple is aware of the issue, according to multiple readers who contacted Apple Support, so a fix is likely going to be coming in the near future.

I had this problem with my wife after iOS 16. I have a 14 Pro Max and she has a 13 Pro Max. Solved by turning airdrop to everyone and then back to my contacts only.
