Space grey vs. Silver discussion [merged]

Moving from my Space Grey late 2016 to Silver 2018. I usually switch colours.

Same here. My personal one is silver (2011) along with my work (2017), so I went with space gray this time around, mainly so I don't get them mixed up.

My 12" MacBook is Space Grey and my iPhones and iPads are Space Grey, so guess what color I would choose for a new MacBook Pro?! Yep....Space Grey!

I had a silver 2013 Retina MBP. This time around I ordered in Space Grey. I have a 12" Macbook in Space Grey and I love the color.

Although I really like space grey, I went for classic silver, also because it is to be delivered 1 day sooner

My gf got a space grey mbp last year, which came with minimal faults in the grey coating and returned it for a new one, can't imagine going through that again

went for the caldigit dock as well, wich is also only available in silver

Yes, it is. I don't think anyone is judging you based on your MacBook Pro color choice. Get the one you like best.

I've got a Magic Mouse and keyboard but have hardly ever used them. If the same happens to you then the colour of the mouse and keyboard won't matter so I would get whatever colour MBP you like most.

Personal preference, and for me, I slapped a skin on it the bad boy so the color matters even less.

I have always liked silver until 2016. It seems too shiny for me. It is not the same color or matte finish as before then. Still a classic. Ymmv

Space Grey looks more premium and refined, it looks even better in light. Silver looks meh in comparison.

I've got a Magic Mouse and keyboard but have hardly ever used them. If the same happens to you then the colour of the mouse and keyboard won't matter so I would get whatever colour MBP you like most.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. Ideally I want space grey as the 13” 2018 MBP I bought and returned last week looked great in space grey so I was planning to get the 15” base in the same colour. However, I’ll need a keyboard and mouse as I will be using it in clamshell mode at home hooked up to a 4K monitor. I think having the Magic Mouse and keyboard in silver would look a little odd though with a space grey MBP so am umming and ahhing over it. I could buy the Magic Mouse and keyboard in space grey I suppose but seems a waste when I can get the silver versions for free.

why not get a keyboard and mouse in space grey, they look much better than the silver ones.

I had a Silver 15 2017 MBP just because the Compu B shop i got it from last year didn't have the Space Gray in stock.
Now after having 3 failed keyboards on the 2017 one, Apple replaced mine with an i9 2018 Space Gray. :-D Love it! I was quite sick of silver since 2006 )

“Free” from my brother who prefers a third party keyboard and Logitech MX Mouse for his 5k iMac so hasn’t opened the ones he got with it.

After having a silver 2015 I went with the space grey 2018. I use a BestSkinEver clear skin so I can see the cool color.

Why would you want any of them? The Apple keyboards and mice are absolute junk. A must have for any iMac purchase is a decent mechanical keyboard and Microsoft Intellimouse.

My wife told me to get silver because of the amount of silver apple products around, so glad I did, it's classic and lovely.
