i tried it. There seems to be a push notification bug right now. The default mail option works as advertised. Just read the release notes. The Dev tweeted not to long ago that he is aware of the push bug and will have an update out within a few days, if not sooner.
Yes there is banner notification. Even thought push is broken right now, you can test it by immediately quitting Sparrow once it starts checking for mail. You will see the banner outside of Sparrow (if you indeed have new mail).
Cydia won't let me update Sparrow+. When I click to update I get the following error:

Anyone else running into this issue? I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Sparrow+, I tried downloading Sparrow Push first, uninstalling/reinstalling all of the above, and still no luck.
I've also noticed that it's not working with LockInfo yet. Any news/info regarding this?
I really hope the developer fixes this ASAP because Sparrow is way better than the stock mail app (especially if you have a Gmail acct).
Does Sparrow push and Sparrow+ drain battery? Has anyone noticed?
I was wondering the same thing. I've been using Sparrow+ (along with Sparrow Push) for as few days now so it's still too early to tell if it's having any effect on the battery.
However I can confirm that my battery life has improved since removing the stock email app account and disabling its "push" feature.
All I need now is LockInfo support/plug-in for Sparrow then I will be all set. Hopefully that will be very soon.
Does Sparrow push and Sparrow+ drain battery? Has anyone noticed?
Am I doing something wrong? Push neither banners is working for me.I cant say I've noticed any more battery drain with Sparrow+ installed. This morning about 6am Sparrow+ has an update combining it with SparrowPush and includes banners and NC support. So you can see it on the lockscreen now. Mailsheets are not working in 100% of the places yet but for what I do its enough for me. I was wondering about the Lockinfo Support also. You'll have to add his repo to get the updated Sparrow+ : freemanrepo.com/repo
I can say the Hide Mail.app toggle isn't working at the moment. The toggle is there but the code is not there yet. I can say that my experience that it's about 90% percent automatic on pushes. Which is more then enough for me.
Are the emails pushing for you immediately or within several minutes?
Oh one thing the Dev did say was to open Sparrow after a reboot or Respring to make sure the connection starts. Not sure if it was more of a suggestion or better to do type situation. Hope that helps some.

Thanks a lot, man. I was searching everywhere for an answer as to why I was not getting notifications from Sparrow+ and why the badge wouldn't update if I deleted messages from anywhere other than the Sparrow iPhone app. Now it all works perfectly.
I Appreciate all your help and information you provided in this thread. Thank you.
I've had about a week to monitor Sparrow+ and the effects it has on my 4S battery. In my experience, it definitely drains the battery quicker than the stock mail app.
Usually I would lose 1-2% overnight with the stock mail app (set to push). With Sparrow (using the Sparrow+ "push" tweak)......I am losing between 8-9% overnight. It's somewhat of a significant difference.
I love the Sparrow mail app too much to ever go back to the default/stock mail app. However for now, I have uninstalled the Sparrow+ tweak and I will re-install it once again once LockInfo support is finally made available for Sparrow.
Because for my needs, I require the Sparrow "push" service mainly for my lock screen. Hopefully the LockInfo developer is working on this and plans to release it ASAP.
