Was 4G on on the iPad?

On your XR that seems to be more than 4%. Do you remember the percentage before/after going to sleep?
[doublepost=1541661775][/doublepost]Under these conditions on my X:

Full brightness out in the sun

Wifi off

4G on

AirPods full volume music through a music app in the background

Parallel surfing the web on 4G

I lose 1% every 2-2.5 mins.

Assuming I’m under 99%, I lose 1% every 2-2.5 mins.

So like from 99% to 90% in under 30 mins.
[doublepost=1541661910][/doublepost]Can you do one thing? Is there more drain if you have iMazing wifi sync on all the time?

No, 4G was not on on an iPad. I wrote percentage and it was exactly 4%. 70% to 66%.

What is iMazing wifi sync?

Why would there be any drain if both 4G and wifi are off?

I do not know, but probably some bug in system. But I wanted to know if the drain without internet connection will be or not.

Last night over 9 hrs:

X 78% to 72%. On 4G.

Pro 10.5 45% to 44%. On WiFi.

Summary for my devices over the last few days:

Pro 10.5

Typically around 0.5% or less of drain per hr. Whether on Wifi or 4G. Wifi might drain a bit less than 4G perhaps.

X

Typically 0.6-0.8%+ drain per hr. On both Wifi and 4G. With Wifi being maybe very slightly better.

Everything on 12.1 stable.

The X drain seems pretty bad to me. Is comparable to Android flagships. Standby time will likely be 6-8 days tops with such drain.

Pro 10.5 drain ain’t that bad. But unlikely to give a standby of over 7-10 days. When it should actually be more like 15-20+ days instead.

On the plus side there are days when Pro 10.5 only drains 1-2% over 8 hrs. Which is perfect.

But not had such days with my X recently.
[doublepost=1541751441][/doublepost]12.1 has been the best iOS 12 variant for battery life so far. They just need to improve it a bit further and then it should be good enough.

I used to be super ocd about standby time so for old times sakes I checked my iPhone 7 that I just had the battery replaced in. Phone connected to LTE and WiFi both with strong signals.

Stopped using the phone at 9:53pm last night had it at 79%. Checked the phone at 7:09am and its at 72%. So 7% loss over 9 hours. Seems pretty normal to me right?!

I always plug my phone in at bed and don’t worry about this anymore.

Which iOS version?

Last night over 10 or so hours:

10.5 78 to 78% - 0% drain

X 91 to 85% - 6% drain - too much

Thankfully 10.5 no longer drains on standby. But X does pretty bad.

Has anyone got to the bottom of this yet? My iPhone XS Max drains about 6% overnight (9 hours) even with WiFi off. I turned off tap to wake one night as a test, but it still drained about 4-5%. I always remember my iPhone 6s Plus only drained 1-2% overnight so I don’t know why this happens.

My iPad Air 2 with a new battery and fresh restore drained 5% overnight with WiFi on, but with WiFi off it drained 0%.

All devices are running 12.1, with screen time off.

All my devices have 4G and Wifi on, screen time on.

Turning off Wifi doesn’t help much at all.

4G instead of Wifi drains a bit more.

On Wifi with 4G not off:

X 0.6-0.8% per hour overnight

10.5 1% overnight total.

All my tests are done on airplane mode, as I only get 1-2 bars at my house. So with airplane mode on and WiFi off, I still lose 6% overnight on my XS Max :(

Did you try a DFU restore?

Did you try starting clean without a backup?

My iPhone was on iOS 12 fresh from the factory and it still does it. Restored from iCloud, but only ~200MB of data was restored (only my Apple Watch backup and a few other things)

Have you tried with WiFi and Cellular off?

Makes no difference. I have tried that. With AirPlane mode.

Do you guys really think the idevices are supposed to not lose any % overnight?

I’ve had the iPhone 4,5,6 and currently the 7 and they have all drained between 4-9% consistently over an 8-10 hour period overnight while connected to WiFi and cellular.

This seems normal to me....o_O

The devices have to be pinging the tower and doing some basic background tasks... you are bound to lose a little.

Nope. Prior to iOS 11.4 an iDevice would lose like 1-2% over 8+ hrs.
