But, is it good?

Worth following into Season Two?

Worth noting to watch Season One whenever one of the channels in Our Part of the World decides to broadcast it?
the purist will complain about the lack of nerd factor, in other words it has (at least this season) too much "action" and not enough "science/geek" feel to it. and I will somewhat agree, still yes I will follow it into season 2. there might be some nice nuggets hidden in STD such as

It is not entirely the "nerd factor" - it is just everyone was lied to.

It was supposed to be part of the original Prime Universe, then the trailers seemed like it is in the Kelvin Universe (but it is not that either).

It is turning out, despite what CBS says, to be a total re-boot. A grittier, edgier, Star Trek (like the new Battlestar Galactica). This is why fans are upset, CBS should've have just told the truth at the start.

Plus, people are not liking the in-your-face SJW pushing agenda.

It is getting season 2 because it is generating enough funds with the sale of the series to Netflix and CBS subscriptions...

It is generating what they have hoped, a "new fan base". This series is not for "nerds" of the old Star Trek...

I would have liked it better, I think, if they had made it part of the Kelvin universe, because then things could be the same/different and it wouldn't matter.

It's not bad sci-fi, it just doesn't feel like Star Trek the way the established series does. Even Enterprise despite it's many, many, flaws felt more like Star Trek than Discovery

most of the shows nowadays have some level of SJW agenda, guessing we need to get used to it. Trekkies will ALWAYS get upset because we are fairly diverse and what different things for the series :p
this series is not for the nerds..YET. I never got into "enterprise" :(

I'm commenting on the spoiler. Discovery is before Kirk's time, since Spock either hasn't been born yet or is an infant. The guy in the spoiler lived well in TNG era. Klingon aren't know for their longevity.

the spoiler alludes to a possibility of a descendant from said character.

Klingons are probably not known for their longevity due to their way of life of combat. But they are actually very long lived as demonstrated by the fact that Kor, Kang and Koloth - who all 3 appeared in TOS - also appeared as old Klingons in DS9

It could be the same character too, if he's Klingon

I am wondering when the physical transitions on the Klingons will take place.

I don't have much faith that they could come up with a good story for that. Maybe they should just leave it be, as much as i dislike the new look of the klingons, and just have it be the way klingons look

Yep, but Kor is about Spock's age or younger. The albino would have to be near Sarek's (203 years old,TNG Unification) age at least. Kor and his buddies would be but whelps in comparison, I'd say in the 130-150's. "Bones" McCoy was 137 at the start of TNG.
It's possible the augment virus (horrible storyline:rolleyes:) gave him 2x the life expectancy of regular Klingons, like it did with augmented hew-mons.:p

The albino

Your post reminds me that although Star Trek has progressive casting, it still treats albinism with the same evil stereotypes that the rest of pop culture does. Namely, if you show an albino on screen he cannot just be a normal person, he has to be evil, scheming, and/or mystical.

DS9 cast in 2017.
fm9b3jijiasz.jpg

My best guesses left to right:

Nog, Ira Behr (writer), Dukat, Jake, Worf, Jadzia, Kira, Quark, Ezri, ???, Garak?, Odo, Cassidy, Leeta?

I think Sisko and Bashir not present.

I'd agree with that view, but I think that Discovery is a great series in its own right (even if it doesn't really feel like Star Trek) and I'm really enjoying it.
