I got Starcraft for my PC when it first came out -- back when there were 3 box designs, one for each race. My CD was stamped "Ver 1.0" and did not have a mac version on it. My girlfriend (now wife) ordered it shortly afterwards for her Mac, and it was stamped "Ver 1.04" and a hybrid CD arrived.

Yes, Blizz has a long history of supporting the Mac, and recent titles have been simultaneously released, but it's not "all past Blizzard games".

Pretty sure it's a moot point. :)

Yeah I just checked, the Mac link in my battle.net account for SC2 beta is still greyed out

It's the only reason I partitioned my drive and I'd like my space back please. :)

what FPS do you guys get?

I'm playing on my iMac, latest windows drivers installed at all medium settings, full rez. I cap out at 30FPS, is there a way to raise the FPS?

Also my name is iron.demon if anyone wants to play with me. Currently I'm in the Gold League :)

Two questions:

Can I use the same beta key to play on both my PC & Mac (when the Mac client comes out obviously)? Or is it 1 beta key/computer?

Also, I don't see an option on battle.net to download the beta client...I already did the opt-in. How do I join beta? I got my key from Gamestop after pre-ordering SC2 if that helps.

Question 1: Beta access grants you the ability to use both the PC and Mac clients.

Question 2: In your battle.net account, you should see "Add or Upgrade a Game." Click on that, enter your key as instructed then it will redirect you back to your account page where you will see the Starcraft 2 Beta in your list of games.

Thanks for the reply. So would I be able to download the mac client twice? For example, if I wanted to run it on my MBP (mid 2010) and compare it to my bro's MBP (late 2009) could I use the same key?

Sure, you just cant play at the same time.

O.k the battle-net site is down for maintenance, so with anyluck the mac beta will be out tonight or tomorrow morning :D

Guys! The Mac beta is now available for download! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

I'm both happy and annoyed. Happy, because the client's out. Annoyed, because I'm replaying through SC1 to remember the story and I haven't finished yet!

3 gigs?! The Windows torrent is only like 1.6 gigs (looked it up just then to check).

Haha yeah - and it doesn't even include the map editor! Wonder why it's so big.... ah well I don't mind other than the longer than expected download.

Haha, yeah well what can you do? If you haven't played SC2 yet on bootcamp then you are in for a treat :)

Can't wait to be able to play natively and not have to reboot....
