Haha, yeah well what can you do? If you haven't played SC2 yet on bootcamp then you are in for a treat :)

I haven't played the Windows version; I'm already looking at an expensive Internet bill this month without adding multiple copies of Starcraft into the mix :p

What the hell?! It says

"HTTP Status 403 -
type Status report
message
description Access to the specified resource () has been forbidden
Apache Tomcat/5.5.28"

Is it just messing up b/c everyone is downloading it, or what is going on?

Same for me....

Maybe it's only US? I am sitting in Denmark...

I would be hella pissed if that was true. The windows version can obviously do other countries!

***** LAME

"The StarCraft II Mac beta client is now available for testing on North American servers, and we encourage Mac users to download this client through Battle.net and begin testing. We plan on expanding the Mac beta to support additional regions and languages in the near future. "

The near future will be like 1 week before the launch. Oh well I'm destined to play it on windows for now.

can somebody please share the mac downloader (it's a few MB) so we europeans can try to tinker to use it on the european server ? :D I'm not sure they are tied to your account... Or just upload the .apps to run the game, shouldn't be big

Agreed, near future will be a week before it launches. Sometimes I miss being in the states :).

If someone uploaded that stuff you would be my hero of the week. I will do a little dance in your honor.

If i had any friend keys to give i'd give it to someone on here. If you're going to get the get anyway when it comes why not pre-order from Amazon/Gamestop online and get a key?

Thanks, that would be awesome! Well, the reason is most european countries have no Amazon/Gamestop...

Already put in my beta key before I realized it was US only, sorry. Now it says the key is already used so I can't give it to anyone else. So, I get to sit here knowing the beta is out, for mac, and I have a key, but cannot play it.

Blizzard, despite loving you, sometimes I hate you.

ah man, had to leave my mbp on all night just to download this. hopefully it was all worth it~:p

I'm sure I'm gonna make many people happy here, specially European people. I managed to get ahold of the Mac binaries, so just add these files to the Windows client and here you go the OSX client :D

And please Blizzard guys who are browsing this forum, don't blame me, we just hate rebooting, simple as that !

well it seems to almost work, but not quite. I started it, got a black window, then it went into fullscreen then it popped out and I got an error report.

Any ideas???

The problem isn't caused by my files since it works fine here. Although I noticed their mac support forum has reports about this very same bug, dunno how to solve it though.

played sC2 under these settings (mac specs in sig) and it went okay. i got lag once every like 10 mins. (screen just froze for like a second)

I pre-ordered on Friday and still haven't received my beta key. I'm supremely jealous of all of you Mac users playing right now...

I'll be giving it a go with a C2D MBP from '06. Should be quite interesting!

SC2 runs perfectly on my 13", 2.4 GHz, 320m with medium settings (mac client). iStat Pro shows my CPU temp getting up to 80-84 deg C though...is this cause for concern?

Should i back down some of the settings to low-end? Would that help keep it cooler?

Already put in my beta key before I realized it was US only, sorry.

It's not US only; I'm running it with no problems here in NZ. According to the EULA, it's supported in US, Canada, Australia, NZ and Singapore.

I know that doesn't help you, but it's definitely not restricted to the US.

I am wondering whether mac client will as smooth as win client or not.

Because i do not want to make my mac dirty with windows I hate it :(

I can tell you that it definitely does not. I've been on the Windows client for about a week now and it feels like a final product except for some more pending balance changes. The mac client feels like beta software. My mouse is jerky, the graphics look different (worse) and the performance is nowhere near as good as the Windows client. I hate to partition my drive for a game, so I'll just wait it out for them to fix up the Mac client a bit more.
