Ok just an update.
I was getting an orange error message every time I tried to connect to bnet for the past two days. This evening I trashed the StarCraft II Beta folder, and then redownloaded and run/updated the beta from my bnet account. After reinstalling (took a while!), I could connect to bnet perfectly. I only reinstalled, didn't change anything else (didn't even trash the prefs or anything).
So any OSX user having issues, try that.
Only problem now is I'm too scared to play multiplayer coz I'm a fraidy cat.
Oh also re performance, runs the same or better for me than phase 1. I'm running it on High settings on a 27" i7 iMac. Re "better", seems to be generating less heat than in phase 1 (though I am using smbfancontrol so I can't really be sure it's not that).
