Personal anecdotes don't fly in PRSI either, but you don't see me calling ******** on your wife and mothers supposed professions, do you?

I was merely providing examples of intelligent people that I know for a fact read TMZ on a regular basis in order to show you that not all regular readers of TMZ have a "limited mental capacity". I didn't claim my examples to be anything besides being an obvious personal anecdote.

I think my examples properly proves that not everyone who reads TMZ has a "limited mental capacity". Even if they're the only two.

Then let me make is clear I was expressing a personal opinion, not a statement of fact.

And let me be clear that I was trying to show you that your opinion was insulting and unfair.

Like a personal anecdote? ;)

I covered that above.

God, Allah, Buddha, please heal Steve Jobs. He has a wife and two kids. Let him live so he can at least see his kids grow up.

To everyone who thinks this is fake, google steve jobs addresss in palo alto on waverly st, then street view and go around the corner down santa rita, and there's a driveway that matches the picture, a gate that matches the picture, metal and round tipped post, and a garden arch in the background that matches the picture, and maybe a window sill and part of the house that match too. also, from the bottom edge of the pic it looks like it was shot out a passing car window. His body could have been shopped though, but if it wasn't, I can only think some unexpected medical condition brought him out to the street to get picked up to go somewhere, but not ambulance and stretcher unexpected condition.

Why so defensive over a gossip site like TMZ?

I'm not defending TMZ....I'm just participating in the discussion and disagreeing with BS statements.

I am sure there are a few intelligent people that read it.

However IMO if you polled all Doctors and Lawyers ... more would say they don't even know what TMZ is than actually read it.

Perhaps. However, I was stating that I personally know people with those vocations that read it regularly. I was never trying to imply that ALL doctors, lawyers, etc. read it. My examples show that people who I consider intelligent slum it up on TMZ's website regularly....which mean that not everyone who reads it regularly have "limited mental capacity".

It is a website that lacks intelligence ... just like Perez Hilton.

I agree with that....however, sometimes people want to kick back and read fluff every once in a while. Some people like TMZ, some people like MacRumors.

And I would bet they employ their own in-house photoshop department.

No doubt. However, they do not photoshop photos to trick people. They do it for comedic effect, like the Casey Anthony graduation photo. When they 'shop something, it is obvious (like the Casey Anthony graduation photo).

These images should be removed asap from this site. This is just a tasteless invasion of Steve's privacy. I hope that Macrumors deletes these threads...

To me it looks as if the man with Steve is looking directly at the person taking the picture and I'm inclined to think they knew and didn't mind the photo was being taken.

You know, in the progression of a deadly illness such as his, there's a point where these kinds of things just aren't important any more. Steve obviously has much more important issues with which to deal.

I'm very sad that he's so ill.

The guy is personally worth over 5 Billion dollars ... I doubt someone's picking him up at the curb ... in a dress.

Man that picture makes me really sad. Poor guy. Jobs is a true genius. I can't think of a single person in tech who has overseen so many paradigm shifting technologies, devices, and everything else.

A huge part of tech is going to be gone when Steve passes. This truly sucks.

Steve, we wish you the best. Thank you for being you.

So you checked out Google Street View then?

Whatever man. Believe what you want. I don't think it's possible to have a reasonable conversation with you.

I think the thing people have to realize about tabloids is a lot of times they are accurate, mainly because they pay for stories. I believe the National Enquirer was the first to break the John Edwards affair.

I've found that picture upsetting personally. Just over a year ago Cancer took my mother away and seeing that picture reminded me of how fast she deteriorated after she was diagnosed.

I'd be totally uncomfortable with anyone distributing pictures of my mother at her Illest and think that the picture is very distasteful.

I do wish him and his family all the best. I'll always be mindful of those who have been or will be touched by cancer (be it friends, family or themselves). It's sad to see other posts from members who have suffered loss to this illness.

(Apologies if that came across high and mighty, it was not intended to come across that way!)

The fishy thing is that he's walking around the street in a hospital gown. Why wouldn't he be picked up/dropped off at his door instead of the street?

Looks like a hospital gown to me. Looks like he's going for treatment of coming back from treatment.

I think so too, but if it was planned treatment getting picked up at the curb, he would be dressed, and for any planned treatment in that outfit they'd shuffle cars and bring the pickup vehicle inside the gate, so to get picked up at the curb in that something isn't going according to plan, but not bad enough for the ambulance. I hope it is fake but the pic is for sure of his house taken from a passing car, the only question is if he was shopped in it.

Steve has never been one for the pity train. The fact is, he is still alive. For how long, no one knows. Let's not feel sorry for Steve. His final epitaph has not been written yet. A weak body, does not equate to a weak mind. Steve probably does more on his worst days than any of us do on our best.

Very true. Look at Steven Hawking, brilliant mind trapped in an almost useless body.

Steve probably does more on his worst days than any of us do on our best.
That's pushing it. I put a higher degree of importance on raising my son (& soon to be daughter :)) than I do someone running a team that designs great hardware and software. Heck, anyone that's raising or has raised kids knows it's harder and involves a great deal more time too. I get your point but that's just the way I see it.
