To put it simply, Apple has been lying to their shareholders about Jobs' health. From the photos it doesn't look like he'll be able to do any kind of work on either the board of Apple or Disney.
Jobs should have resigned months ago.

On a personal level, it's just sad, and I really wish those photos never would have been published.

its not shopped. its real. its sad, but it is what it is.

TMZ does this for a living. Its not shopped. Trust me.

That is a pic of some TMZ schmuck posing outside of Jobs house and then they photoshopped it ... the straight parts of the black thing near the knees is proof.

look closely

It sure seems that the guy on the right is posing for the pics ... who is he? does he work at TMZ?

IMO these pics are not Steve Jobs

He looks kinda scary, like, you could wake up tomorrow and he wouldn't be in the pictures anymore...

Anyway, best to Steve, I don't think he would have resigned unless it was severe, so I reckon it's probably real.

Do I believe that's Jobs? Yes.
Do I believe it's a bit photoshopped? Probably some, yes. To make it look that much worse.

Is the situation very very very bad for Jobs? I believe so.

It's not just TMZ. It's all over the web. Sites like Reuters are discussing the photos. No one has been able to say definitively they aren't real. In fact, most legitimate sites aren't spending much time discussing whether they are real or not. Instead folks are discussing whether or not TMZ should have posted them. A much better discussion IMHO (and probably less fraught with petty insults).

The gown? To me, that would be "so Jobs". He can't wear the black mock turtleneck, so he'll have a black mock neck hospital gown made. Wouldn't surprise me a bit.

My thoughts are with him and his family.

The good news is that he's still standing. Near the end with my grandfather, he couldn't even get up when he had little trouble months before.

He probably hasn't been too involved with things for several months now. He is in really bad shape. This transition has been in the works for a while now. I can't believe that people here actually think that he just walked in two days ago and resigned and the Board of Directors was shocked. It has been kept quiet, but it has been ongoing for a while now. The decline in his health has been apparent every time he makes an appearance. The man did what he loved at the highest level possible for as long as he possibly could. Cancer reared it's ugly head and he can no longer do what he did for his entire life. It's sad to see this happen to anyone, not just Steve.

Some of you guys are very ignorant or just in denial. That's clearly Steve Jobs.

There has been, and continues to be, a prevailing and shocking level of denial about Jobs deteriorating health amongst the insensitive and flippant observers who post in this forum.

If one had stayed current with the ongoing news that has been printed about Mr Jobs condition, and done nothing more than a few Google searches to educate themselves, they would realize that his condition is in fact, grave.

Agreed x2.

There are some straight lines on his "little black dress", but I don't see any obvious 'shopping when you look at the head and shoulders.

Also, note that the bumper on the car forms a perfectly straight line.

tmz has to much to risk than to post a fake picture. When it comes to breaking big stories they're usually on point.

1) I hope this photo is fake or shopped or not him
2) if it is real and if it is him - i hope you get better soon steve
- you gotta be around when the spaceship lands in cupertino

Don't be idiots. Look at the face closeup. It's Steve Jobs. Take your heads out of the sand. The poor man's terminal.

Edit: Voting me down doesn't change the reality of the situation, but go ahead if it makes you somehow feel better.

This is hard for many of us to fathom, seeing as he is such an inspirational man :(

It's funny, reading the comments on TMZ: Lots of people chastising TMZ for running the photo, but no one is denying it's Steve Jobs, unlike here. If you saw him (with open eyes) at his last keynote, you new this was coming. Very sad indeed, but entirely expected. :(

I don't think anyone is denying that the face is Steve Jobs, I think people are wondering if the picture is real or if it's photoshopped.
