in that case lion GM seed was released July 1st. about 2 weeks before it went on sale.

I'm guessing July 24th.

Last year Apple held their 3Q earnings call on Tuesday July 19. CFO said Lion would be released the next day--the first official release date announcement. It was in fact released the very next day.

This year the 3Q earnings call is on Tuesday July 24th. Will they do the same thing and mention it on the call, releasing it on Wednesday July 25th?

We'll see. Might happen.

New Mac delivered 27th, ML released the 24th. 3 extremely anxious days.

Is 20 bucks worth it for 3 days?!

Good; they gave the developers some more time to prepare. But they got rid of Rosetta in Lion, so I don't want to update.

Nah.

It's a x.y.0 release, meaning something will likely be busted. Probably a device driver in a newer Mac causing crashes.

Besides, the earning announcement is on the 24th. Apple won't release the OS on that day. The 25th or 26th? Yeah, more likely.

Apple -- like any publicly traded technology company -- really can't release new product on an earnings announcement date. If the results are bad, shareholders would probably accuse the company of manipulating stock prices. The 24th will be entirely about Q3 results, nothing more.

At $20 this will be a good buy. I'm looking forward to the new features. Alas my 2007 Macbook may be on the chopping block of those models supported. It is probably time to buy a new Macbook anyway.

"OS X Mountain Lion is only available to registered developers presently. The final version will be available to customers through the Mac App Store later in July. Apple will be pricing the release at $19.99." or $300 for Australian customers.....

If you ordered your Mac after June 10th (I guess that is the correct date...) ML upgrade will be free for you. ;)

Uhm, Facebook integration apparently is not in there. This is weird. It's in iOS, while synchronized stuff isn't even shown in Contacts on OS X.

It clearly shows here that there should be FB sharing.
