I dont get why it was so hard for you to install? Literally all I did was slip the case on and that was it? I'm just curious as to why it was hard? Are you talking about the screen protectors, because then i can understand. The bubbles were a pain to deal with, so my screen is naked. LOL.

If the screen protector is like say, Bodyguardz you should be letting it dry for 24 hours. Then it shouldn't peel back when you put the rest of the Rebel on.

this product looks good. i just bought 2. they are pretty reasonably priced. the screen protectors from the apple store are $15 by themselves.

The one I purchased showed up today. Overall, great product. I didn't put on the screen protector's cuz I'd rather buy a 3rd party one that I know is going to be a good quality, and at the moment I really don't think I need a protector. The only thing that I don't really like is that when the case is on junk collects real easily along the edge of it.

Yep they don't ship to Canada, here is a reply to an email that I sent them.

"Dear Customer,

Sorry for your waiting.
I am sorry to say, but we are halted shipping to Canada until further notice.
USPS was not able to provide tracking outside the USA. Package
traveling time and Canadian Customs were extremely slow and unreliable.

Please visit our Canadian reseller; stuffedbox.com"

Unfortunately the stuffedbox site freakin blows, and this is the response I received to that email.

"It will change, about a month from now as we will totally update our
website and fully automate the shipping process.

Thank You"

Sooo I guess we Canucks get to wait, unless one of our friends to the south wants to start taking orders for us. :D

Yeah, what a crock!

That Stuffedbox has nothing for 2g either.

Thanks for checking into that.

Question,

I really need a screen protector (i already have one small scratch). Is anyone using the screen protector that came with these cases? Also I really want a Zagg Invisible Shield because I am happy with their products I purchased in the past. My main question is, If i get a screen protector (only the screen, not the whole body) and not use their screen protector, should my iPod touch still fit in this awesome case?

Thanks

For those of you who have received the case, are you using apple earphones or third party earphones? I have a feeling my Sony headphones won't reach all the way into the headphone jack when I get the case. But I beleive this is the reason they provide the headphone jack extender.

I received the case about a week ago and love it. I use the Shure e4g headphones without the adapters and works great. Case is perfect except for the screen protector lifting (tiny bubbles, maybe 2-3) in the outer edge areas. Seems like the case causes it to lift and bubble, but doesn't effect viewing. Ipod touch is nice and protected and ready for some running.

I ordered the rebel for my 2g touch last night and was wondering how long it took to ship? I received a paypal conformation and that's it. cant wait to get it.

Thought I might as well post a review while I'm here.

One of the best cases I have ever owned, and i've been through quite a few. I'm a bit of a minimalist when it comes to cases, I hate the bulk but I want the drop protection (I'm pretty picky...). Anyways once i put the case on it didn't add much bulk at all and it felt like really solid. It has a raised lip also, which I could picture saving the glass screen if I were to accidentally drop it... but with a better screen cover (not the one that comes with it) I'd be pretty confident to do a drop test with this thing on, if someone wants to buy me a new case anyways :p.

The cons of the case are pretty few. Although I didn't have much trouble putting the case on, i did scratch up the silicon a bit. The rebel for the iphone 3g had a lot of complaints about ruining their product because the spine ripped the silicon so just be careful. If i were to take it off and clean it every week, the case probably wouldn't last me longer then 6 months or so. Other complaints...well I ordered the black, and the spine scratches pretty easily and I keep noticing small nicks in my silicon. Since its a hard silicon it doesn't just pop back into place if being punctured by something. So thats something to keep in mind. Lastly, some dirt and stuff does collect in the nooks and crannies as someone mentioned before.

Hope that helps anyone who's thinking about getting it.

I posted my experience in another thread, but thought this bore mentioning.

I placed an order as soon as I saw this discussed on the forum. However, the case I received was damaged in shipping. It was sent in a plain envelope, no padding, the case had a huge dent in it, the screens as well. The stand was smashed. I asked for a replacement and they sent one out, no questions asked.

However, the replacement I received was for the iPhone. I emailed and asked where do we go from here and they said they were sorry about the mix up. They also said they were out of stock of the touch rebel case and to 'check back later'. Is it just me, or should they let me know when they have them back in stock, or put me near the top of the list to receive a replacement? Why should I check back with them?

I've asked for a refund, which I doubt I will get. I do intend to take it up with PayPal. Meanwhile, my touch is picking up scratches because it has been going on two weeks since I ordered.

Buyer beware.

Man that sucks. I was thinking of ordering the white one but the way they've handled it so far makes me think twice.

They sent me an e-mail as well.

Please visit our Canadian reseller; stuffedbox.com

chiefpick.com or invopal.com

(I believe they are out of them at moment and so we are.)

Thank You,

It looks like invopal.com is a Canadian distributor as well as stuffedbox.com.

Either way, they are out of stock as well.

Man that sucks. I was thinking of ordering the white one but the way they've handled it so far makes me think twice.

As a followup, they responded within 24 hours of the refund request and refunded my full purchase price. They were very polite about it and said they were sorry for the inconvenience.

Mistakes happen and if they are out of stock, they are out of stock. I wish things had gone better, because that is one killer case. But they didn't screw me over or anything like that. I'd probably do business with them again.

ETA: They also refunded all fees, PayPal and shipping. They could have easily said there is a restocking fee or we cannot refund PayPal fees or shipping, none of that. I'm not out a dime. Except for returning the iPhone case they mistakenly shipped to me, which is of course only right that I return to them. I've dealt with far worse outfits.

my case is on it's way. Gmail snagged my shipping notice
In the spam filter. Will give my thoughts when it comes in.

This is a really nice case. Fits well and easy to put on. It finally feels better when holding it, without the case it felt too thin. It doesn't add much bulk but feels comfortable. The screen protectors are garbage. I could not get the bubbles out and it felt cheap. The dock connector cover lowered the sound a bit but not too much. I like the stand and cleaning cloth, nice touch. Good buy for the money but if you want a screen protector get a different brand.

The buttons are much easier to use with the case.

I LOVE my 2nd gen now with this case. The cover for the buttons are very nice. I love how easy it is to press on them and how it fits nicely over my ipod. The way it feels in my hand is even better now. Now I don't have to worry about it sliding away from me. It wasn't so hard to apply, just go over the instructions and you'll be fine. I find at first the power button wasn't working too good but I just had to jiggle the case to fit perfectly and now it works just fine ^_^. When I am using my iPod I make sure I have the USB cover on so not to get any dust on. I also found that when I am not using the USB cover that the usb cover fits nicely in that lil cradle they give you in the center. Thats where I put it to make sure I don't lose it.

whats good ..my 1st post ..im thinking of getting a rebel touch case.must say it looks ridiculously cool..my question is ...does the case itself effect the speaker to the ipod touches sound at all? ... thanx

Yes, but only slightly. Most of the sound comes out of the dock connector. As long as that is not covered it sounds pretty much the same as a unconvered touch

invisible sheild by zagg or bodyguardz

I am about to get my rebel case any day now ,what is the better choice to use with my rebel case an invisible sheild by zagg or bodyguardz

I already have a bestskinsever skin on my touch. Please tell me I don't have to remove it to use this case. Someone did mention that it wouldn't fit but I don't know if you were guessing or you knew for a fact that it will not fit. Does anyone use a skin (invis shield, bestskinsever, or zagg) PLUS this switcheasy case?

Button troubles

I just got my RebelTouch case today, and I've found that when I put both shells on I cannot use the screen lock button (the one on top). I don't feel any give under the softish rubber button cover, like I do for the volume buttons which work fine. Every once in a while as I've been playing around with it I'll get the "slide to power off" screen, which means the button is getting pressed for a long time. I think the button is squashed under the layers.

The annoying this is, the button works fine with just the soft inner shell on, and even with the outer spine / hard shell partly on. But once I get those last two hard corners around the bottom, it's useless.

Anyone else run into this kind of problem? Were you able to do anything to get it to fit better?

Did you read the little bit of paper that came with it? What you should do is get everything on, then hook the power button with your fingernail and pull it towards the back, and hopefully reseat it properly onto the button.

I did not get any paper with that instruction on it (that I can find), but... it works! I really had to pull at it with my fingernail, and the button still does not produce as distinct a click as the volume buttons, but it's quite usable. Thank you.

Update: the button cover slipped back off the button some, and I had to pull it back again. Mixed feelings about this case...
