Anyone having service issues with their XS Max? After upgrading from the iPhone X, both my husbands and my Maxs’ are RARELY in 4G and constantly saying no service.

So I didn’t feel like waiting so I went into the store today and got the last XS Max 64GB Gold. Paid the $100 again, and I’m going to shop the pre ordered phone back once it comes.
 
Very weird how paying for the phone works. I always like to pay cash for my phones, but they were pushing the payment plan. The taxes and down payment would have been $450 or so. They would bring the price or the phone down to $720, which means $30 payment for 24 months. It seems to me that $450 out of pocket might be a deal breaker for a lot of people. Assuming you only had to pay taxes on the phone, a 64gb would be $1170. Spread out over 24 months would mean $48.75 per month payment. It doesn’t make business sense to me, but I never did claim to be a business expert.

After calling a bunch of stores on launch day and getting no where, I decided to order through T-Mobile online. Yes, I'm aware that local Apple stores have inventory - I'm doing EIP via T-Mobile so work will comp me for it/everything is on the same bill.

I placed my order on 9/21 and was given 2 to 3 business day shipping. The estimated shipping date is 9/21-9/24, although I doubt the accuracy of that. Orders placed on apple.com show a 10/4-10/8 estimated ship date, so unless T-Mobile is sitting on some inventory they didn't already ship during launch, I don't anticipate receiving the phone until sometime in October.

My 6 is this way now, but my daughters 8 is fine. I keep wondering if there are tower issues going on. Did the Xs drop a band the X supported? I keep meaning to try to find a chart for that.

But, I’d repost in the regular forum. Also, could there be another carrier update. hmmm....

OK, ordered my first iPhone Xs Max 64gb in black on Preorder right at 301AM est. I was able to go through online and no issues with the process. Scrolled through these forums the entire time watching and waiting in anticipation, passing the time that was needed. Everything went smooth. I was able to use UPS My Choice and got the label early, T-mobile site showed the order in Pre-order processing for a while (the usual stuff). Found my imei and eip agreement in the system so I know I am good to go. Thursday mid morning my origin scan shows up, with Friday delivery. YAY! SO excited. Friday comes, have to work a half day and go into Boston for some appointments. Driving home at 430 shipment shows delivered! Wife calls, says package is here. Psyched! Stop at grocery store and pick up dinner stuff. Come home and set up a "station" at my desk (microfiber for protection of the phone against the desk, just in case) lay it out, and boom right under the light, scratches on the display. The shipping box looks good and the iphone box is in great shape. Protective plastic around the phone looks great. So strange that there is small scratches on the screen. Talked to t-mobile on Facebook, only option order and pay for the new one and ship back the old one for a refund. Or find it in store but it is the same procedure. No luck with local stores. So order online again. Exact same one. Ship date of 9/21-9/24. OH well, now I have started the process over. So here I go:

Ordered 9/21 6:31pm EST iPhone Xs Max 64gb
9/22 8:01pm EST My UPS shows "Ordered Process: Ready to ship" Estimated delivery date of 9/24 (I know this ain't happening as the phone won't be picked up until Monday in KY. (I am pretty confident my phone is in stock and ready to go)
9/23 7:34am EST looked in My T-mobile and see the new imei and eip in my billing section (so I really know the phone is in my account and a box waiting for UPS)
Here I wait, AGAIN, for the package. I am hopeful that the package will be picked up on Monday and delivered on Tuesday. I am realistic since it is 2 day overnight that that may mean Wednesday. But with my Thursday origin scan and delivered Friday I hold some hope. I also hold some hope that it doesn't arrived damaged. I'll update THIS post as I progress(more for something to do while waiting since this thread no longer is really really active as it was pre-order time.

I checked the bands before ordering and they only added bands and kept all the previous bands. I believe I found it under tech specs on the Apple Website.

Hey I'm on the same boat as you are. Out of curiosity I checked my UPS account and there's a tracking number with a delivery estimate of 9/24 2nd day air. Stoked if this pulls through!

Is there an "origin scan" for your package yet? If not, it is still sitting at the T-mobile warehouse waiting for pick up (just like mine is right now). Mine shows a Monday delivery right now, but it will get updated to Tuesday or Wednesday when the package is picked up by UPS.
