Just got a “picked up” notification from UPS in Louisville.

I wonder if Apple chartered a bulk cargo airline this year to take the phones China -> Anchorage -> Louisville for UPS to take over.

Does UPS require a signature? I’m under the impression they don’t.
I also want to know, because I will be at work. I imagine due to COVID the guidelines have changed. Does not say anywhere on UPS MyChoice that signature is required. Planning on leaving them a note on my door requesting contactless delivery, with my name and signature.

For my 12 Pro ordered through T-Mobile directly, the UPS tracking number showed signature required. I opted to pick the phone up at my local hub which due to the value of the item, they exercised a rule that requires the item to be delivered to the address itself(this may be something that T-Mobile chooses to enforce for launches). So ultimately while leaving empty handed that morning, the phone was delivered that night buy someone driving a box truck that wasn't even brown or UPS branded. The driver left the box in-between my storm door and regular door and didn't need signature at all ultimately.

Interesting they said that. Maybe it’s only because of the current COVID guidelines, because I’ve picked up my T-Mobile preordered phone on launch day from the UPS customer center for the past like 3 or 4 years.

I have origin scans but the site isn't showing the mychoice reroutes I am doing (new address and access point) but it shows on the app as a requested change. Hopefully they are going where they are supposed to be going...
Reroute will add a business day. May not be delivered tomorrow.

When I ordered , express shipping was automatically the option and it was free(though there was ground but I never ticked it). Does express shipment handle by different truck/driver ? or are all shipment for tomorrow considered ground?I asked this because the UPS driver that handles ground in our area is always reaching our home after 5 PM. Earlier when it is express truck. My shipment is already on the move...

No charge no assigned phone. Ups shows label created. Tforce claims my phone has been assigned and shipped.

Hello everyone,

I ordered the 12pro max-256 yesterday and just received shipping info. Should be delivered tomorrow. So anyone still on the fence, if you order, you'll still get it relatively fast it seems.

Good question, I’m trading my XS Max and am wondering the same thing. I don’t want any surprises.

Still early, if you have a UPS label you will likely get it tomorrow. In the past I have gotten UPS movement at like 2AM day of delivery and have still gotten my phone on launch day.

remove the sim tray and shine a light inside, you should see the indicator
if it’s red it’s tripped, if it’s white you’re good

edit: the sticker is right underneath the model number on the screen side inside the sim port. it’s a little hard to spot but it’s there

Are you particularly concerned that something happened to your iPhone? I have done these trade ins for several years and never had a problem. However, if you have instances where you think phone had water damage -- store trade in would be best way to go.
