How's JOD compare to EIP, any pros and cons comparing the two?

For JOD, the pros (in my personal opinion) include: Allowed to upgrade every thirty days, comparable monthly device costs, and zero down payment for base storage models (though this is changing in 2018 supposedly). The cons include: You are expected to keep the phone in great condition to negate excessive damage fees, phone selection is more limited, and device upgrades are slightly more regulated; e.g. you have to conduct orders/preorders through other means than internet. T-mobile is also in the process of changing up JOD. There are now affordable, low-tier phones included in the program, and again, the $0 down payment will be changing.

Overall, I highly recommend it. I have two lines; one with and one without. More often than not the JOD line is cheaper than the other and I am constantly upgrading when I want.

Just a fair warning. If you are currently on jump and want to change, you have to pay the remaining balance of your EIP (minus device trade-in).

Oh damn. Yeah if you do end up doing it online/over the phone this time around, you should get it on launch day. Had no trouble last year with the delivery.
Hopefully. That was hell last year. Then again, there were people who got the 256 jet black I believe who waited months

I remember all that, it was a mess. Some people had really late shipping dates too, for even the regular Plus models. Here's to hoping this time goes smoother.

The biggest and only pro (for me) is that you don’t have to worry about selling your old device and getting scammed on eBay.

As time has gone on, JoD folks seem to have been forgotten when it comes to iPhone releases. I got roped into it with a great promo 2 years ago and haven’t really seen any perks besides what I mentioned earlier. Then again, it was on me to enroll in a program that emphasizes jumping from device to device when I upgrade once a year w/ the iPhone.

Personally I’d rather just do EIP. Same gist without the hassles of having to have a balloon payment, having to order phones via a telephone call and having to worry about your phone condition. Yeah, I’m not a fan of having to sell my old device, but Swappa has been good to me in the past.

And you get the email after you preorder? Or after release
[doublepost=1505455254][/doublepost]One hour everybody! Is everyone ready/excited yet?!
I'm checking my emails from last year. Ordered 9/9, received shipment estimation on 9/10 (Delivers 06 Oct, 2016 - 13 Oct, 2016 by 2-3 Business Days) and received tracking number on 09/20, delivered on 09/26

What did you order? I wonder if they will take as long this year too. Does it make a difference if you preorder at 12am compared to 3pm? Or is it all the same since it's the same day

7+ 128GB Jet Black lol production was really low for jet black in the initial months. yeah it makes a difference because orders are filled on first come first serve, so you'd be looking at hundreds of thousands of orders in front of you if you order tomorrow at 3 PM

How does tmobile usually ship. First time ordering from them. Deciding on where to ship it (work or home).

Do they require signature like Apple?

Gold is probably going to be just as slow as the blacks from last year. Hopefully not since it isn't something as new as jet black Haha. I guess all we can do is call on time and wait for the email

All orders being shipped will most likely require signature, it's almost a given on items of this cost. You can pre sign with most

Yea it seems gold is the "jet black" of this year. Curious of what the demand for the 8+ is in general though, doesnt seem like too many people are buying

Are ya'll all calling and paying the $20 fee vs doing it in the app or online?
I spoke to a rep and they said if you are JOD there is no $20 device upgrade fee. But for the others I'm not sure if there is a fee

I know quite a few people are holding back for the X, but yeah I don't think the plus is as popular this year
