im using icloud also... i normally do clean install every year but will go the icloud route this time around... i hope my pics transfer over.

Does ups say out for Delivery? Mine just says it’s loaded on delivery vehicle. It’s 9 AM already...
I prefer to use iTunes because it is much faster. If you have an apple watch or any health data you want to keep, make sure you choose the option to encrypt it if you do it through iTunes.

Yeah my laptop ran out of space for backups and I don’t want to buy another one. Really don’t need one with the iPad Pro. So I guess I’ll see how the iCloud transfer works.
I’m wondering if it’ll transfer all the apps over.

Mine says out for delivery.
It transfers everything over from what I've seen in my experience. I almost always restore from an iCloud backup.
Just pick it up, can't wait to ger home en open it.

Use update: Face ID is great. It’s fast, more intuitive, and didn’t stumble when I just unlocked in the car with polarized Ray Bans on. To me the concern about Face ID was unfounded.

Silver 256 and Space Grey 256 ordered around 7:30 AM PST on 10/27.
Silver 256: CC charge on 10/31, then shipped later that day and Out for delivery today. Lucky wife!
Space Grey 256: still no CC charge, T-Mo status is still 11/3-10. Looks like the chances of getting this today are <1%. That number appears a little high actually.
For fun, I'll also note that the same two models I ordered on Apple.com (store app wasn't working) at around 12:15 PST on 10/27 are still estimated to ship at 11/17-24. I'll be cancelling those in due course, but lesson learned!

Got my 64gb silver! Picked up at UPS. Updating then restoring back up now!
You have to swipe up. The UI has a padlock that appears on the lock screen. It’s locked at first and swings unlocked once Face ID is confirmed. Then you swipe up. Or you can swipe up immediately and enter your PIN.
I thought about this too. In general I prefer just swapping the sim card. It's still all regular nano-sim, right?
I generally just take the SIM out of my old iPhone and pop it in my new one. I'm up to two spare T-Mobile SIM cards now.
That's a good thing. T-Mo likes charging $25+ for those whenever you add a new line "for free."
