Carrier T-Mobile iPhone X/8 Pre-Order and Dispatch Thread

Just came in 20 minutes ago! Installing 11.1 and giving it a go 
Quick question on matters probably covered somewhere in the last 175 pages. I would like to upgrade once a year to the latest iPhone. I have the option of having both JOD iPhone X and Apple's IUP iPhone X (Tmobile) today. Which one should I do between the two? I am leaning on doing the Apple one; if I do that, next year none of this "you must buy at store" stuff, correct? If I cancel/return the JOD iPhone X arriving today, do I have to pay anything? Is there any way JOD is better than IUP? (I would like AppleCare in every case.)

Kinda amazing that no TMob stores around has any stock (luckily my Apple order gets delivered in a few hours)... they said they are first fulfilling online orders before they'll get any and start selling at the stores. Meanwhile my friend just walked into a Verizon store across the street which had ample stock of X and got himself a new phone.
Personally, I think both are not as good as buying the full priced phone up front and then selling 1 yr old phone privately. However, from a pure economics perspective, it's neutral if you believe you will only get 50% of the value back. If that's what you believe then IUP is better since there is no up front payment commitment. JOD may require an upfront down payment which makes the economics worse.
Also, if having an unlocked phone is something you need, then full purchase or IUP are your only choices.
As I pulled up to the UPS CC, I had completely blanked on the fact my license had my old address, so the reps informed I needed a utility bill. Silly me. Anyways, I have my phone now and I am so in love with this phone. Face ID works much better than I imagined. My fears of losing Touch ID were almost immediately alleviated.

JOD approved me for no down payment on the 64GB. I don't want to deal with the hassle of selling used phone and TMO is my carrier for the future, so don't care as much about the unlocked. My worry with JOD is that on next year's phone it is way worse economically (down payment, etc) than the IUP and I am stuck with JOD for "life." Also, how would I get out of the JOD iPhone X in the UPS truck on its way to me right now?
Just return it and if they ask you questions, tell them the phone just sucks and you hate it. Make sure it is unopened so you don't get hit with the restocking.
Is it a link that's accessible to anyone through UPS's website? Really curious where the UPS truck with my phone is at hahaha

I like their strategy of allocating all to online initially. I avoid going to the TMo stores whenever possible. I’ve had them cram crap onto my lines I never authorized (device protection the last time my wife did a JoD upgrade).
