Last Q, why do we need a certain iTunes? And can you see if color profiles works? Thats why i JB Ty

the jailbreak exploits a bug on older itunes DLLs aparently, hence the need for 12.0.1

what is color profiles, a tweak? never used it.

Oh okay, so I gotta downgrade iTunes on my PC. Ya if you are already JB can you see if it works? Just search it and it will say its compatible or not, dont need to DL it.

yeah that's why I keep wondering why everyone needs iTunes?

After another install attempt of Taig, it showed requirements for an Apple driver. (Did not show that the first time and the install reached 20% before looping to failure.)

Apparently, if you are lucky enought to know you need iTunes and an older version at that, you may be able to get the full install to work.

But it's like Fight Club. No one discusses it here. (Not in English either.) LOL

Sir, pretty much the only thing that has been discussed on the Jailbreak forum here has been how to get the TaiG jailbreak working. The general consensus is that TaiG 2.1.2 is stable but it requires iTunes 12.0.1 in order to work. And I'm not sure what you are talking about when you say "not in English either," but there is a Chinese and an English version of TaiG. TaiG jailbreak works great as long as you download the tool in the appropriate language and you have iTunes 12.0.1 installed. One more thing is that you should have iTunes open while you are running the TaiG jailbreak tool.

Thanks! That's all very coherent and well summed up.
I can't get an iTunes install to take on parallels so that's that.

Allright. After a bazillion tries and three reinstalls of iTunes I managed to jailbreak with iTunes 12.1.0.71 and Taig 2.1.2.

iPhone 5 is successfully jailbroken once again.

JB success here after getting the message "This program cannot be run inside a virtual machine" under both Parallels and VMware Fusion.

Once downloaded did a restart of my Mac and succeeded after a second try with Parallels, but still not with VMware Fusion initially, this without downgrading iTunes.

Do I need to delete all my themes before I upgrade to 8.3? Will iOS still recognize them as used space is what I'm wondering? Or will that space be freed even if I just leave them there?

How about the stuff I have in var/mobile/Documents ? Will stuff be erased or will it just be using up space that iOS can't use unless I delete it through ifile before I upgrade? I'm thinking maybe I should manually delete all that stuff to be safe with it maybe not freeing up the space. Anybody know?

I really don't feel like clean restoring if I don't have too! I want to run stock iOS 8.3 and enjoy crispy performance before I get bored and eventually jailbreak again!

One more thing. Does afc2add work with 8.3? That's what I would need to use to use ifunbox to put my (custom backed up) themes back on.
