New York, Baby!
He'll bring Fabio Capello on to publicly inform Gawker that they made a 'veery bad miistake'.

Then he will explain that the responsibility lies with Gawker and Gizmodo as they forced Apple to put their handsets in cases and stop the issue from showing up during field testing.

He'll then announce to rethink his current policy of only employing right handed people...:D

We are happy to announce that we will be remedying the antenna problems with complimentary 1x1 inch squares of high-grade electricians tape. All stores starting in two weeks will have LIMITED SUPPLIES of tape, but you can pre-order and reserve your tape square starting tomorrow!

Aside from getting a feeling of how cool it must be to be Jobs, what would you say / do about the iPhone 4?

Actually, I don't think I'd want to be Jobs. Sure, the money is nice, but I wouldn't want to live knowing I have pancreatic cancer. Sure, it may be in remission now, but within the next 5 years I predict that it will come back with a vengeance, and doctors won't be able to do anything about it. That's the way pancreatic cancer works, unfortunately. It's the kind with the lowest survival rate.

My prediction:

Steve Jobs himself will come out and address the issue personally. He will first go into how great the phone is, how its selling extraordinarily, how its the best iPhone to date. Then, he will say, "But, we have become aware of an antenna issue." Then he will go into some specific tech reasons for the antenna, like how the revolutionary design of the external antenna has never been done before and thus there was an unforeseen issue.

Then, he will have his bullet point solution:

1)We will be doing a slight hardware redesign of all future shipping iPhones which tweeks the antenna so as to eliminate the problem completely.

2) Any current iPhone users who are experiencing problems are entitled to a replacement with the redesigned iPhone, if they request it.

3) Customers who currently own iPhone can also receive a free bumper or Apple store credit for $30 instead of getting a full replacement phone.

Then he will apologize and state Apple's commitment to "making the best products possible."

Exit stage left... problem goes away in a few weeks.

This.

I agree with this. I hope it is what will happen tomorrow.

We'll need to wait and see. Oh the wait... lol

If I were the CEO of Apple I would take a big chunk of my marketing budget for the remainder of the year and put it into a "gift" for the customers who are affected by iPhone 4 issues. Apple has a chance to save face on Friday but they have to do it right. The company was/is known as having fantastic customer service and in upholding that reputation they should acknowledge there is an issue with the antenna and they should allow all iPhone 4 customers something substantial.

If they could fix the problem by changing a manufacturing process they should allow ALL early adopters to exchange their phone for new ones that work. If they can't, they should give all customers at LEAST a $100 Apple gift card which they should recommend be used for a Bumper and maybe another accessory. I would ALSO allow any person who bought/reserved an iPhone 4 as of the press conference the right to upgrade to the next iPhone with the upgrade price as soon as it is released (and if they have to eat the subsidy from AT&T, so be it).

If they were to do this I can guarantee that Apple would once again be looked at in a positive light by the public. They might not have much money left to market their products this year but making the company look THIS good is about the best marketing you could ask for anyway.

Where bunnies are welcome.
Steve will introduce Gray Powell, who will then tell everyone, "You know that iPhone I lost? Well that wasn't the only one. I also lost the production model, which had been modified to fix the reception issues we had with the one I lost. Sooooo, we had to go with the one Gizmodo gave us back. Sorry."

If I were Apple's CEO I'd pretty much say:

A small portion of users are experiencing issues. Then stress some really great info for the other 95% of the conference.

...Most of us will just throw away iphone 4 by next year because of iphone 5. Problem solved.

And what if 5 is just an intermittent update...a la the 3GS? I still have my 3G since I never upgraded to the 3GS as it just wasn't worth it to me. The yearly updates aren't always total redesigns.
