Welcome to iOS land. I bet you haven't even used devices with iOS 6 and earlier.

You don't think this is true? You must be naive.
The iPhone 6 offers a terrible experience now. It never used to be like this.
I echo your sentiment. However, I feel iPhone 6 was crippled right from the start with deliberately poor hardware choices by Apple. So I am glad I skipped. I have been in similar situation with iPad 3.

Even my iPad Air 2 stutters at times on 9.0.2

And ignore that Prabas guy. He is a fanboy of the highest degree. Him calling this thread dumb is itself dumb.

It's sad to see reduced touchID performance for all A7 and A8 devices. Only if other manufacturers did not have had their heads stuck deep in the sand, I would have jumped ship to Android.

I had a 6 Plus and never had this issue really.
The only issue I've ever had (and this was with iOS 8 from day 1 as well) was that apps would just randomly quit to the home screen (Facebook was the worst offender).
I'm fairly sure that if Apple would have included more RAM in the last gen phones it would have been much better.

Back to the main issue.
I've always seen that after an upgrade/restore from backup that there seems to be strange lag/glitches.
It's always been my standard practice after doing an update, to reset all settings.
I've done this every year with every iPhone version from the 3GS up.

You won't lose any pictures/messages/app data.
You will have to re-setup any customized settings, alarms, notifications, etc.
I highly suggest anyone having these issues try this first.

Beyond that, I have upgraded to the 6S Plus and must say, the increased RAM really helps with apps not crashing and not constantly refreshing when switching back to them.
If for no other new feature, it was worth the upgrade for me.

I was without a phone for two weeks before iPhone 6s Plus launch. And I used an iPhone 6 for that time period, which was running iOS 9 for about 10 days of that time and it ran perfectly.

No idea who's having these issues with older phones, but I have yet to actually see this in person.

I am sure it is a case that some people don't see or want to see any negative comments about Apple. Let's face it Apple don't make perfect products but they do make dam good ones.

I see the stuttering on both my 6s and Air 2 but not on my 6 which is on 8.4 and nothing I did would help and I tried everything. My Air 2 was definitely smoother on 8.4

On the other hand sure that a lot of the problems people are having are shall we say a little over the top.

Also bringing up a topic like this on here your going to the the usual answers from people. Did you not know Apple can do no wrong in some people's eyes.

iOS 9 brought us the settings app opening up wrong and two update later it is still the same. I know this is a very very small problem but it says a lot that they have more pressing things to sort out first. It does look a little stupid though.

Oh yes, I am a fanboy. Here, look for yourself how well iOS is running on iPhone 6. No Touch ID lag, no lag when launching apps, camera doesn't take 4 seconds to launch.

I see a "micro stutter"! :D

I doubt it's intentionally malicious, but Apple's pressure on getting as many older devices on the current revision of the OS is causing problems both under iOS and OS X. There is little harm in holding back OTA upgrades for older hardware while they finalize the tweaks that will change a "bugfest" into a usable platform on the older devices. Or, shocker, they could just start backporting features and fixes that make sense on the older platforms and stop attempting to keep everyone running lockstep.

There are a couple of animations that stutter on iPad Air with iOS 9.

Why did you not show scrolling?

Well, they accused you of beign a fanboy and then you recorded and uploaded some vids...No offense, but you kind-of-helped their case.

There's already enough and better evidence to prove them wrong, you know?

Would you kindly be more reasonable? I don't hate apple, I am an apple enthusiast. I love apple product, I have no desire to 'go android', but a spade is a spade and the simple fact is hat my iPhone 6 was a lot smoother and more reliable prior to ios9, and I do believe apple deliberately cripple hardware performance. For some reason this has happened prematurely with the 6.

I can understand your point of view, IF you've done all the troubleshooting. Did you try doing a clean install and not restoring from backup?

We've all had issues before, but the difference is whether you hopped online immediately to complain or did you take time to try some solutions first?

Anyone saying iOS 9 is as smooth and polished as 8.4.1 must be blind or just genuinely doesn't spot it.

It made no difference if I did a clean install and then installing my apps or restoring from a backup. 5 iPhone 6 devices in my immediate vicinity that have this problem.

And to the guy posting the video of how smooth it is. You haven't even used an app. You merely open and close apps.

Every iPhone 6 I laid hands on besides mine, that ran iOS 9, was dog slow. And I'm not sucking this out of my butt. Plenty people agreed with me, and there are also enough threads that confirm this.

As there are plenty of threads stating the opposite about iOS 9; that people find it smooth and are satisfied with the performance.
