Unfortunately it is a world wide problem

I agree. I take Metro Transit to work and have had people talk down to me. Its a sad thing because I live in a very nice Condo and drive a BMW, yet people judge you based that instantaneous glimpse. Looking cool has a lot to do with Apples success, and people that own Apple computers aren't afraid to preach it. Thats why those little Apple stickers outnumber M$ ones ;)

I wonder if it might simply be a knockoff of the Mac Mini. Sort of like all those knockoffs of iPods and iPhones that come mysteriously out of "the east."
Why didn't I think of that? (Not saying that's is or isn't the truth.)

Does it not make sense that the next Mac Mini would be released along side the Cinema Displays? Why would Apple release a new consumer level mac that did not have a webcam, or at least the option to use a webcam.
It kinda does, especially if the new ACDs are glossy etc.

Who invited Buzz Killington to the party?

I think I didnt do anything illegal, I didnt sign any NDA or anything like that, lets say I met a guy in a subway who offered me something and I bought it....

I'm assuming from "lets say" that this isn't exactly what happened... which would be a good thing since receiving stolen goods is definitely illegal. Certainly the person you received it from did not own it, nor did they have the right to sell it, therefore if you bought it (in the subway or not) you've received stolen goods. Good luck arguing that you thought it was used when it's an unreleased product... LOL...

Finally I hope there really isn't a subway in your home town or you just made it a whole lot easier for Apple to find you.

Thanks for the leak... and good luck!

ha. I had a hunch this was real. Now you "fake" hater are looking pretty stupid with your macroblocking and color artifacts, aren't you?

Or did he make a quick 3d mock-up of a back and video that? Maybe he rendered it in Maya?

hahaha.

add this to the list of things apple would NEVER do that they've now officially done:

remove FW from the macbook.
put FW 800 in the mini
make a mini with 5 USB ports
put mini DP AND mini DVI on the same machine.

oops.
I don't get it - not the FW/FW800 part - but putting so many USB Ports and multiple video connectors on the Mac Mini. Okay, this computer is aimed at switchers, but still - what happened to think different? I mean together with my Airport station and wireless keyboard two USB ports are actually enough.

Well, maybe it is just a mock-up or something. Personally I'm still hoping so. But then again, those edges look more rounded than on my mini. (top to side)

Doubt it. Nobody in that department would risk and amazing job with great benefits (with a product few people have touched, seen, or known about) to get a bunch of 40 year old Mac nerds and 15 year old non conformist mouth watering.

oh ****. that is us. i just spotted the mirror

Stolen property is stolen property even if you bought it legally

I would buy that if it has same specs as current macbook

I would just need a better monitor LED Cinema Display? Like I could get that when it is $100 less than the MacBook White that I might be getting. I really need a desktop because I am sick of putting the PowerBook back when I want a second display. But I could just leave the PowerBook hooked to the display and use the MacBook as a laptop. But then I would not have a computer to use as a server. It would be nice to know the price of this Mac Mini that we have video of. I do think that it is real but I want to know the price.

I say fake. looks like it's moving with too little effort as if it's a box. Could be wrong. Hope it's real but I dunno at this point.

You guys want it all. Just be happy that the news broke here and we have a fellow member willing to leak info to us. Asking Monthly to plug it in is like asking him to show his face in the video.

Hey I know, why don't Monthly bring it over to my house and we could bust open a case of cold beer and video it booting up and then pop the top and show everyone the guts. ;)

I get what you mean, but it just seems so unbelievable.

Keeping mini-DVI, AND mini-DP on a consumer product? If they wanted 2, why not just 2 mini-DP's?

Firewire 800 on a $599 machine when it isn't on the $1600 MacBook.

5 USB ports?! Apple goes for minimalism. Granted, some people need 5 USB ports, but Apple is all about simplifying their products.

Same design? Since 2005? Clearly, their lineup is going towards black and aluminum, so why keep the design the exact same with white plastic on the back?

The video looks legit, but I just can't see Apple releasing a product like this. And, a stranger on the subway offering it to him?

Again I worked for Apple for years. They are not only smart but wise in protecting there equipment. They know who had that potential prototype and they will track that person down, and prosecute everyone who breathed on that thing. They might even sue you for seeing it :apple: and they should.

If you EVER worked for Apple you'd know the difference between There and Their...

I know for a fact they don't hire illiterates off the street. I call B.S. straight in your face.

Just chiming in this morning, though haven't been bothered to read much of the thread because I'm lazy. If you've done nothing illegal, then I'm sure the next thing you'll be showing us is a screenshot from system profiler or something like that, I mean, no need to be so mysterious if you've really done nothing wrong. You're doing us all a favour.

Also would just like to remind people that a prototype MacBook Air was sold on eBay legally a few months back. Sure, it was a while later the computer had actually been released, but Apple didn't mind afterwards, though couldn't fix it. So, if this is real, I guess Apple would be a bit upset having lost it before actual release, but wouldn't of cared otherwise. Maybe it's incomplete and doesn't actually run properly. Or at all.

When someone says "let's say..." or "let's just say..." it is not meant to be taken literally.

It could be real, or not. That leaked video is probably the best we'll get for the time being. We are most likely just going to have to wait till the next mac event.

I am not going to say that this Mac Mini isnt real but does anyone remember spymac and that video that came out to prove something?

I know you old timers know what I am talking about.

Man, I can't believe you got authorized to take a project black computer out of the campus.. That's a no no for whoever signed out on it.

Im sorry, I rarely post, but you guys are such grown babies sometimes. The same type of people that would probably report a dude to apple if they had more info, yet are probably just jealous they dont have what you have.

A shouter too besides being illiterate, even if the poster is a former Apple employee.
There's only one employee who's allowed to go off half cocked without being canned, and he doesn't have a Windows executable file extension after his name.
