Interesting news story on BBC website. Looks Like part owner Levy is 'open to selling' his stake in the club

Maybe a way in for state actors to get a foot hold in Spurs and what with major share owner Joe Lewis arrested in the US for insider trading, the club may want to distance themselves from him, especially if he is found guilty.

Good luck to whoever wants to negotiate with David Levy over buying, or acquiring, a stake in Spurs.

The legendary Sir Alex Ferguson once famously described negotiating with Levy as having been "more painful than a hip replacement."

Given the current state of the relentless and brazen sportwashing programs in the Middle East, we could be poised to see a large number of the biggest clubs all fall into state ownership in the next few years. Nobody will offer more money, so unless current owners are willing to factor more than sale price into who they chose to sell to, it's pretty inevitable.

Unless of course the FA or a a new independent regulator genuinely ban state ownership. But that doesn't seem likely to happen any time soon. there are too many ways around it.

It’s at your place.
Ah, okay.

There is something stupid and unreconstructed in me that loved Highbury.

At least you don’t have to worry about Harry Kane!

No, but, as is also the case with West Ham, Spurs seem to be doing quite all right in his absence.

We've won the last few fixtures, but Spurs seem to have begun to improve, or, at least, paradoxically, somehow play better together - as a team - now that they have been deprived of his presence.

2-3 Congratulations Spain 🇪🇸

Penalty and red card last minute of a very tough and even game. Cheap.
The referee saw it from behind, from the side it was definitely not a penalty.
But the referee judges. That’s football.

We have a more difficult road if we will get to the Olympics now 😕

Everton pick up their first win of the season against Brentford.
Luton also manage to get their first point and move off the bottom of the league as it currently stands with Burnley trailing to Man Utd.
I'll gloss over the continuing 100% record of City.

A bit better from United in the second half, making a gorgeous, Van Persie-esque volley from Bruno Fernandes stand up.

Hannibal must've made a lot of new fans today with both his work rate and his intelligence on and off the ball. I was getting skeptical of him having a future at United, but maybe he does.

Very even game at Anfield, through West Ham could have scored three (Herculean save by Alisson, sitter missed by Antonio, and then finally the shot that went in). 1-1 for now….

Liverpool have won almost every match this season in the second half, and the Hammers have shown a really high work rate, so let’s see if they can keep that up. Jones had a goal flagged for a very tight offside, and West Ham were clinging on a bit at the end of the half, so it’s set up for an exciting second half.

Two all between Arsenal (who are not firing on all cylinders, and haven't been as settled this season as at this time last season - Rice went off, with an injury at half time) and Spurs.
