The way that Liverpool play suits Newcastle’s attack, they just always look like scoring a couple.

But Klopp gambled on Liverpool scoring more, and so they did, with Mo having an all-action day out (goal from open play, assist, missed pen, scored pen). I hope he comes back from the AFCON in one piece.

Plus this lovely tribute to my mate Steve "Beastie" Morris:

Nice to see them get a win on the day, a fitting tribute.

Man City’s schedule over the next two months is remarkably forgiving. I could easily see them winning all of the next ten matches (including a nice cushy two-leg CL tie against Copenhagen), and showing up at Anfield in March six or more points ahead of everyone.

Not happy Kudos has been called up for the African cup of nations. We will miss him.
With Paqueta injured and Zoma a doubt, we are struggling to find first team players. I appreciate Brighton have a few players out as well for our game tonight.
Anyway hoping we can continue our good run of form.
Win and we will keep the pressure up on Spurs in 5th. Lose and Brighton will leap frog us.

The AFCON is going to affect a lot of the premier league clubs fighting for the top spot.

Losing Salah will cost Liverpool points. The fact is, in order to win the league Liverpool have to maintain outstanding form for the rest of the season. Arsenal have to be almost perfect AND get some luck to take the title. Man City, on the other hand, only need to put in average performances from here on out to win the league.

I can’t wait till Pep moves on. Maybe his successor will stink the place out.

I think that’s a very one sided view. Yes they have a great squad, but Liverpool are hardly Luton are they?

True! ‘Pool have the second best chance at the title, though it’s about half as likely as City.

Seeing them win in 2020 was incredible, but it would be even better to do it with fans in the stadium…

Very happy to see especially Rolfö back in training again after her knee injury ⚽️♥️
Some more players that are back after injuries too 👍🏼
Little jogging of Fridolina in the middle, and the final pic on her in this short video.

I've always wondered if players from AFCON countries are at a major disadvantage when it comes to wanting to play in any of the UK and European football leagues because of the time of year the competition clashes with that of the 2d half of the season of the UK and European leagues because if the AFCON players are your best/top players, having them leave for the AFCON in January can have a serious effect on the club they are in.

For example, Man United are so desperate not to lose their No.1 goalkeeper that they have worked out a deal where he travels to the AFCON a day or two before the competition starts which means he misses a friendly and training with the national team.

Surely wanting an AFCON player in the squad must feature heavily on a managers decision if they want such a player knowing they will loose the player at some point in the coming years due to the AFCON.

This is so laughable coming from Man United

apparently the club has advertised for Hospitality staff and part of the job description says they will be asked to cover up their tattoo when serving 'executive clients'. A small snippet that was picked up on was this '‘we take pride in our appearance’ and ask: ‘Do you have any visible tattoos or facial piercings?’. Pride in our appearance!!!!. A case of one rule for you and another rule for everyone else. Players are allowed to have tattoo's as many of the United players have shown BUT the club does not want any other employee to do though. Double standards all the way.

The hospitality management team should be less concerned about their staff covering their tattoos and more focused on warming the chicken to a safe temperature.

Be cool if we'd win, be cool if we lost and could just focus on staying up... We just got beat by them 4 matches ago...
That’s the thing about the cups. You don’t want to go out to a lower league side. But at the same time, unless you win it there isn’t much point in progressing. I superheated gate money if you are a small club and you draw a top PL side.

Not quite true.

If you have a good cup run, it can increase confidence in the team and club, - especially if you defeat a higher ranked club - and can also allow you to try out stuff (new players, fresh positions or tactics) that might prove too risky in standard league games.

Possibly. But it’s also extra games. Unless you win it can just cost you league points. Depends on the size of your squad, injuries and suspensions etc.
