:D Publish and be damned is also a motto of mine...:)
As I indicated before, I can't count the number of times these threads have popped up over the years, with people swearing there would be new Macs in the morning, only to have the store come back up with little or no changes, and no new models. Speculation on new models is fine, but you would think people would be able to tell the difference between a possible update and routine maintenance, especially since Wednesday morning maintenance has happened so many times over the years, and there are dozens of threads like this one, proving it.
I wasn't Ballmersied in the end BTW!:)
Glad you finally found the cure!
How many hours has it been down for now? Has anyone known the store to go down for this amount of time before?
Yes, it's routinely down for 3-6 hours.

BUT who cares? for some its just a bit of fun, if it bothers you so much put them on your ignore list.

Not sure if you have noticed but a part of Apple is built on hype just like this...

if iMac and mini is being updated - apple, give them SSD - this is no more premium today, it should be basic setup

You were able to add a SSD to iMac last year but it was only 256 and you needed to sell yourself to the devil to pay for it :)

Hoping for MacMinis. I can see it possible they put them up before Lion but have a longer lead time on them i.e. 2 weeks. That means they will be shipping after Lion has been released and means you don't have new hardware and software orders all peaking at the same time.

Te store is out for too many hours!!! My god! This can't be small bump to the store...

and thats what I am speaking about, small ssd for system is a must, not a premium highly prices option, in year 2012

Unfortunately these long down periods have not been product refreshes in the past. In the weeks leading up to WWDC there were a couple of them for 6-8 hours. Of course there were a bunch of people saying it's because Steve Jobs is not around any more to flip the switch and shows how Apple is going down.

Like being on the UK site for store, and when you click on Mac pages you get diverted to the US pages and prices quoted in dollar? Yep. That's what's happening right now...Chicken little moment perhaps but I am calling it! The mac minis will be refreshed today. Imagine the stink it would cause if the iMacs were not!

I am talking about stuff like this:

It still does not confirm that a refresh is happening though.

It does however cause a little bit of hype.. and we all know how much Apple love that

everybody is entitled to his / her opinion.
This sounds like a lovely idea, doesn't it? Shame it's not true.

I might be "entitled" to hold a foolish opinion, but that still makes me a fool, and I should be scolded for it.

We all may be entitled to express our opinions, but our 'entitlement' is not a defence against having those opinions questioned, corrected, or laughed at. :p

In short, everyone is entitled to criticise your opinion.
Merely having an opinion is not enough. You should be prepared to show your reasoning or otherwise defend it. :D

Why these threads have to turn into a vindictive hate fest is beyond me...It's a debate folks, everybody is entitled to his / her opinion.
I couldn't agree more. It seems that all to often, the vindictiveness comes from those who are least secure with themselves. Therefore they strike out at others.

Sadly they fail to understand how lucky they are, after all this is an Apple community were we have terrific products to enjoy.

Yet as the saying goes, "some people are never happy".

Indeed. People always go on about their rights, but they forget the responsibilities that come with those rights.

anyway, I am waiting to do my bit to boost the economy and buy a new iMac
