Is either the black or white slider a fingerprint magnet? The shiny back makes it seem like it would be. :(

Did you guys order from Apple or the incase site?

I want to get a white (apple.com doesn't have them) and it says 3-4 weeks to ship from Apple, I also don't want to wait that long.

The incase site says 5-7 business day and they have white.

Did you guys order from there, apple, instore or how did you get one?

What do yuo all do with your head phones? I have a cover now that has a place for head phones in the back, which works for me, but I don't like the cover. I'd rather carry the head phones in my pocket or something.

I've had the InCase Protective Cover, ISkin Revo, Agent18 EcoShield, Seidio Rubberized Case, Seidio Innocase for Iphone, InCase Slider Case. Here are my conclusions:

1) InCase Protective Cover:
a) bad fit--loosens up over time, and doesn't completely seal around chrome allowing for stuff to get underneath and potentially scratch chrome.
b) great grip because its rubber type material
c) rather thick material

2) ISkin Revo:
a) great colors
b) pretty good fit
c) great grip
d) little too thick for my taste and I don't have any use for the clear protective cover.

3) Agent 18 EcoShield:
a) great fit because it is tight and not flexible
b) one of the thinnest, slightly larger than the InCase slider case.
c) pretty slippery, not alot to grip onto
d) nice matte finish

4) Seidio Rubberized Case:
a) very good grip
b) quite thin, and covers the mouthpiece and earpiece at ends which reduces face-prints from usage, and allows more grip when watching videos or surfing.
c) pretty good fit, but does show slight chrome. I really loved this case and had it on for months without taking it off. To my horror when I did, all the chrome was scratched to hell. I tried to buff them out, but they do not seem to be dirt, but real scratches. Very disappointing because I loved the case otherwise.

5) Seidio Innocase:
a) very good grip. I love the material used. Makes very easy to grip, but not too much that it sticks in your pocket.
b) Really cool colors--blue/black is a great look.
c) I would have considered keeping this one, but it shows chrome all around the phone. Problem is that the previous Seidio case scratched my chrome all to hell, so it looked like crap, so I couldn't use it. I needed a case that covered up the chrome.

6) InCase slider case:
a) the reflective black really highlights the phone.
b) fit is very good because it is a hard plastic that completely covers all chrome. Yet, tapered enough so there is no thick ridge around the edge of the phone.
c) grip is not so great. Pretty slippery, but with a little moisture in your hand it actually becomes pretty acceptable and much better than the phone by itself. In a cold dry climate it is pretty slippery, but still better than a nake iphone, mainly because it has edges that you can hold on to.
d) Definitely thinner than the Agent18. Hardly adds any bulk at all.

So, in conclusion, after many trials, I think for now I will continue to use the InCase Slider Case. It covers the nasty chrome scratches, has a tight fit, very thin, edges don't interfere with usage, so-so grip, does a good job with accentuating the phone, should be quite durable.

Hope this helps in your decision-making.

I've had my slider case for about a week now and I really like it.
I took it off today and found that the bezel was scratched up.
Dirt and what-not gets under the skin, so my guess would be that taking the skin off is what scratches the bezel (dirt and what-not rubs on bezel when taking the skin off).

Any who, thought I might share that tid-bit.
I'm really indifferent about the scratching but I thought I might give some of you a heads up.

Enjoy!

Interesting observation. There were some complaints from users of the Agent 18 about scratches. They probably happened the same way, from when the case is sliding off during removal with dust & dirt trapped in there.

I remember seeing some dust inside the case when I took off my Seidio rubberized case. But since that case comes off with the front and back pieces, dust and dirt doesn't cause any problems during removal.

So in the future with a sliding case, maybe try some sort of lubricant during removal might help. I'm not sure how liquid proof the chrome area is on the iphone, so maybe something that wets and can evaporate if leaked inside, like isopropyl alcohol. Or maybe someone can think of something better. Just dab some all around the front before removing should help with the scratching.

Well dang. I was ready to order the slider case, but now it scratches it all up? I don't really see any reason to remove (other then to change cases) but still...

I have the Mirror Griffin Case for $24.99 Comes with a cleaning cloth and a screen peelable screen protector. Also has a rubber texture on the back case

jeese ,thats what baby cows were bred to be,I-phone protective skins and veal of course mmmmmm.Baby cows skin is soo soft. Also a slave to carry it around would be waaayyyy cool.Is someone selling any of those?I would buy one.

Warning!! Don't go down the slave route.. after days of looking I managed to get one at the local slave auction (we still have them in Australia), thought I had a bargain, until he ran off with my bloody iPhone.

To make matters worse, my Sena magnetic case arrived today, feels sooo empty without my iPhone in it *sob*.

I'm thinking about ordering a new Sena Leatherskin. My green one I bought when they first came out is starting to wear a little bit. Plus I'd like some color choices just to change out once in a while.

I have this one...

But I'd like to have these too...

iPhone case

It would be interesting to hear if anyone has done any controlled tests to determine which type of case provides the best specific protection. My guess would be that the hard cases are better for scratch protection and the soft cases do a better job if the phone is dropped onto a hard surface. I have had the DLO Jam Jacket for 3 months now, and while I have yet to put it to the drop test, it protects my phone well, has not stretched out, does not collect dirt and dust, and does not cause scratches to the phone when I have to remove it to place it in the dock. All in all, a good product and the screen shields that came with is work quite well.

I just got the seidio innocase to replace my broken agent18. It is awesome. I love the rubbery feel without it getting stuck in my pocket. It also doesn't add much size to the device at all.

I'm using an Agent 18 EcoShield, but from the looks of this thread what I really need to get is an InCase Slider.

Does anyone know how to go about acquiring one of these badboys in the UK? InCase don't ship outside the US from their website. Bastards.

Anyone have an issue with Case-Mate?

I purchased a Case-Mate Signature iPhone Case and Holster combination in the summer of 2007. I loved the protection that the combination of the holster and case provided the iPhone. In November, I was getting into my car and the clip snapped. I presume this had to do with the position of the holster on my hip and the tension created by the movement of my body getting into the car, all of which is intended for the case.

I contacted Case-Mate and explained what had happened. The case and holster otherwise had been cared for properly and were in excellent condition. The Company responded quickly, asked to inspect the broken item, and promptly replaced the defective unit.

About a week ago, I was getting out of my car and the same thing happened. I contacted Case-Mate and explained what happened. This time, they responded by saying that the item is out of warranty and they could not help me. I wrote to them and offered to send them the case to prove that the case was not misused or abused. I asked if I could buy a replacement clip and they said they do not stock them. I called and spoke with Hallie Lieberman in the Consumer and Customer Service department and tried to appeal to her. While she was polite, she basically said that I was out of luck.
:apple:
I spent $50 on the combination unit. While I do not expect a company to warranty every product for a lifetime, I do expect that a company stand behind their product; especially, when the product is breaking in instances of its intended use and otherwise cared for properly. In my opinion, Case-Mate has not. I do not believe that a person carrying a device on their hip in a holster designed to be worn in that position has to be conscious of making ordinary movements and the way they do everyday activities. It seems to me that Case-Mate did not engineer the clip portion of their product properly. This clip portion is not forgiving enough for its intended uses and, as proven in my case, failed twice. I am a business executive and the case was not exposed to extreme conditions; it is in excellent condition, save for the clip. My recommendation to anyone considering purchasing a Case-Mate product is to ask them in writing if they are aware of any of their customers having complained about the clips failing on their holsters and if one does fail outside the warranty period, what will the Case-Mate do to accommodate the customer or to remedy the situation.

Picked up an incase slider case for my phone today (white) I think this is the best case I've had yet ( and I've had a lot :(). The fit is really great, and there is absolutely no bulk added at all. Since I have the white (which looks dead sexy IMHO) I don't have a problem with fingerprints or anything.

Thanks for all the help - found a great case!

This thread has been such a great help. I had an Agent 18 clear case with a PowerSource anti glare film but I wasn't really happy with the Agent 18. It kept coming apart and I didn't like what it looked like. I read every suggestion here and really took a close look. I finally got a Griffin Elan Form Black Leather hard case that's covered in leather. It is perfect. http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/elanform

Super fit and quality. It looks wonderful and will protect the iphone just great. I got a new Powersource film too and I'm all set! By the way, you can easily clean the film if necessary by washing it in hot soapy water and rinsing well and drying thoroughly. The stick is by static cling so you're not washing off any stickiness.
Remember to turn off your iphone for an hour or so to cool it down before putting on a new film. The new film will go down on the screen without bubbles much more easily if the iphone is cool.

Thanks to all who contributed to this thread!

Be very careful with this case, the belt clip will wiggle out of the case dropping your phone to the floor.

Elan Form Leather doesn't have a belt clip

Thanks, James - this case doesn't have a belt clip..I think there is another Elan that does though. There have been lots of comments about belt clips going bad so it's good advice.

Best,
