I use this one from InCase.

I like it because it's thick enough to protect the edges and back, covers the edges and back completely (with the exception of the camera lens and vibrate switch), but thin enough to still fit the phone in your pocket. I've come to hate clip cases because the phone is more likely to get snagged or fall off... and showing off your gadgets makes you look like a tool.

I also like how grippy it is, which is especially nice when doing two-thumb typing and/or holding in landscape mode.

my choice

had the invisible plastic case which looked okay but sucked as far as protection and wasnt extremely snug. Now have the incase rubber deally and LOVE IT! It has great grip and decent protection. Best bet for me. I also added the clear screen protector which was a bitch to put on, but I love the peace of mind it gives me.

I want to find a case similar to those little slip things that the current iPods ship with. Just something I can put my iPhone in if I don't plan on using it for a while and don't want to have to worry about keeping keys or change in my pocket with it.

Anyone know what I'm talking about and if something similar is available for the iPhone?

I also chose this one and am very happy with it. The grip really gives it a nice touch!

Using Belkin - Want a Vaja

I have the clear Belkin case w/a screen cover.

I experienced my 1st iPhone drop (desk-to-office carpet) and all is well.

I like the stand that props it up. But after seeing the Vaja, I want one because it's elegant.

However, the Vaja leaves parts unprotected, so I would need a full Invisible shield protector.

The Belkin? My clear Belkin feels and looks okay to me, but it slid right off of my desk, onto the floor because of it's lack of texture. I guess it wanted to go skiing, but it gave me a heart attack.

This is the case I am currently using....LOL not even designed for the iPhone but is working great. No one has a case for the iPhone here in PR and many do not ship here. Ah well happy with this leather case. I think it is originally for a Treo... I wonder how the iPhone feels living in a Treo case....hahahaha:D

i have that one, only brown. i like it, but i'm thinking i should have gotten the black. :0

Once you go black, you never go back. I've had the problem of trying to figure out what case to use for my iphone for a while. I finally decided on not using a case at all. I'll definitely have a carrying pouch like the one you have, but I've realized that with all my electronic devices, I typically try to keep them pristine for a set period of time (a few months), then after that, I don't care any more.

I think the same will go for the iphone. I'll definitely not want to scratch it for the first few months, but after that, I really doubt that I'll care any more. I'll probably end up just throwing it about like I do my mighty mouse.

How easily can this slide in and out of your pocket though...?

I actually haven't had a problem getting it in and out of my pockets. I even have some carpenter jeans that have the side pockets down the legs that it fits into. I can usually just grab the iPhone by the sides and with the grip from the case pull it right out.

i have this same case, but it stretched really easily....

I went to the iPod bar at my local Apple Store last weekend to exchange a bad battery iPhone. The Genius there said that he would not recommend a rubber case for the iPhone. He said that it can trap heat and moisture both of which could be the death of the phone. He said the only cases he and his co-workers are recommending are leather or neoprene cases that can breathe.

until it stretched out and scratched the crap out of the bezel.

I have that case as well (for a week) but it has not done that (yet). I'm really looking forward to revo from iSkin. I'll probably end up getting that one for my iPhone.

I had the Griffin Elan Hoster for 2 days and the returned it. I didn't like how high the clip sat on the back - it kept jabbing into my side when I would sit down. Didn't like that the clip wasn't removable either. Waiting patiently for my Orbino now.

I too had the Elan Snap-In holster for a week and it dug into me. I liked rotating the phone 90 degrees landscape with my belt, and even put a felt furniture pad on the back of the clip, but it still dug in. Great case still and it fits securely.

But I have found what I consider to be THE BEST SOLUTION.

1. www.bestskinsever.com this skin is $9.99 shipped, tacky/grippy so that the phone is less slippery, and wraps all the chrome too (that is the curved chrome, doesn't cover the tiny flat sliver on the front around the screen). Do yourself a favor and get this, better than the Invisivle Sheild.

2. I don't care for the tackier bestskinsever on the screen, so I continued using my www.powersupportusa.com Crystal Film Set which is available at Apple stores for $14.95 and keeps the same feel and look to the screen. Really except for the home button and ear speaker holes, you cannot tell it's there.

3. Lastly, the case. Forget the holsters. And once you have the Bestskinsever, you don't need a Speck or Incase rubber anything. Get yourself a foofpod. www.foofshop.com These cases are handmade in Australia, price is about $21-24 shipped (after $AUD to $USD conversion) and are excellent. Took about a week to arrive. They have great corduory and Japanese cottons, and Irish tweeds. Slip the iPhone in, top first, speaker out so you can hear it ring, and slide it in your pocket.

Can anyone recommend a case that can store the ear buds also? I know there is that molded one, but I would like to find a horizontal pouch that is nice looking and can store the ear buds with the iphone.

J F Y I

Um if it makes anyone feel better, I went to a workshop where a guy dropped his iPhone on purpose, kicked it across a floor and repeated this process with onlookers wincing and cringing. These things are rugged and the inside is stable. When he picked it up it had no scratches and the screen is tempered glass... So if you really want a case go ahead, the only thing I'd really worry about is that paint chipping to be honest. Anyways, I just thought I'd let everyone in on that and hopefully it doesn't influence you too much :D.
