Um if it makes anyone feel better, I went to a workshop where a guy dropped his iPhone on purpose, kicked it across a floor and repeated this process with onlookers wincing and cringing. These things are rugged and the inside is stable. When he picked it up it had no scratches and the screen is tempered glass... So if you really want a case go ahead, the only thing I'd really worry about is that paint chipping to be honest. Anyways, I just thought I'd let everyone in on that and hopefully it doesn't influence you too much :D.

what kind of workshop is that ya say?

Sorry, but ... does that say Calf Skin? I don't think - in a million years - that I would want a dead baby cow's skin surrounding my cell phone. That is just... talk about inhumane... wow. :( Why not hire a slave to carry it around for you while you're at it?

I have a custom made case made from baby cow leather and covered in kitten fur, I have my name spelt on it made from elephant tusks and they are secured to my case using sloth fur. The edges are made from rhino skin because it is very though. It is then soaked in puppy tears for no reason.

I like it :D

Extremely Pleased

-I recently switched from the clear Contour case to the "full body" Shield Zone wrap thingy and it is sooooo awesome.
-I have no idea how it stays on but it literally IS SCRATCH PROOF. It just won't scratch.
-Use it alone to show off the sleek iPhone, or buy it along with something else for extra protection. Either way, it is simply 100% worth the money and makes your iPhone look beautiful.
-Take an hour to install it carefully and correctly and you will be shocked. BUY ONE!

Are these as easy to put on as the manufacturer's video demonstration (using an iPod) suggests?

I absolutely guarantee you if you took that phone and gave the bezel a good look you would see it scratched to he**. There's no way an iPhone can take a beating like that and come away flawless.

don't get the incase one. it stretches out and scratches the chrome. search for it on here and you'll see. I have it so I can say this for certain.

Also recommend against InCase -- you have to clean it regularly to kep the dust particles from scratching up the bezel -- however after you take it off and put it back on 10 times the case is all stretched out and doesn't even fit anymore. A horrible product at $3, much less $30.

I ordered the Sena ultra slim pouch (http://www.senacases.com/Brands/Apple-iPhone-Cases/ULTRASLIM-POUCH) and am considering a Vaja Urbano sometime in the future.

Thank you very much for the link! I just preordered one as well :p

The Sena is the perfect kind of case imo. The iPhone looks so good naked --why wrap it up in cheap rubber or even leather on a permanent basis? A nice thin pouch is all you need for when you have to throw it in your pocket or a bag for protection.

Holsters are also not a good idea imo - why have a $600 phone hanging out there like that, waiting to be stolen?

I'd say a simple pouch combined with a screen protector is all you really need.

But after seeing the Vaja, I want one because it's elegant.

http://www.vajacases.com/home/home_en.html

However, the Vaja leaves parts unprotected, so I would need a full Invisible shield protector.

I'm looking for a case that fully protects the iPhone when it's closed, opens quickly to let me access the screen and buttons, and works in a shirt pocket or on a belt clip.

From what I've seen, there's no case that does all that... yet. The iSkin looks great, but you have to use the snap on VISOR to protect the screen from impact, which is inconvenient. There's also no belt clip option.

I'm hoping that Vaja releases an iPhone case that functions just like their PDA cases. I have a six year old Vaja PDA case that's slightly padded, so it offers some protection for the inevitable drop. Vaja says that they're working on more iPhone cases, but won't say when they'll be ready.

I have an incase one as well, and it has stretched out a lot. the only thing that is nice about it is that the iphone is not as slippery with it on. Has anyone tried one of those iskin cases, do they stretch out? Also, will the apple store take back the incase because it stretches out so much?

I have the incase rubber as well. If and when it stretches out to the point that it effect usability, ...rather than ditching it, i will attempt to shrink it via an oven. It is molded with a Thermoplastic elastomer, so maybe heating it to its vicant softening point and letting it cooling slowly will shrink it.

That's what I have on my iPhone along with a Power Support Crystal film on the screen. Great combo!

One thing about the Incase though as a word of advice...once you put the thing on the iPhone if you get it, don't ever take it off. The top left part stretches out if you do...BUT...it's perfectly fine and won't do that if you don't take it off after you put it on.

Marware Sidewinder

Marware Sidwinder @ Apple Store

I finally found a combination I'm content with. I have covered my iPhone with a BestSkinsEver kit, and its adds a great tactile feeling to the iPhone. I do not like adding bulk to my iPhone, I've always been a fan holsters. One of my fears of using a holster though was it slipping out of my hand and taking a nasty fall to the concrete.

The Marware Sidewinder is the best holster that I've purchased for my iPhone, and I've tried them all. Marware is greatly known for their durable belt clips, which I have the great ability of breaking for accidently sitting down wrong; I no longer have to worry about that because the nub portion that sits in the belt clip is not cheaply put on. It rotates 360 degrees, and it feels best for me when it is horizontal. The entire case has a great rubber feeling, so you get the sturdiness as well as added grip to the unit. The phone can be either taken out of the holster easily, or you can unclip it from the belt clip and use it while it is seated. The case holds on the phone tightly, but smoothly moves from under the holster clip with assistance.

You can also face the iPhone inwards to add more protection to the screen, which I always do. Another feature that I love about this holster is the retracting cord management slider. As you can see in the pictures, you can also hold your Apple Bluetooth Earpiece in a groove that specified for just that purpose. I don't use this feature too often, but I do use it when I'm expecting a call, and amazingly, it does a great job of holding onto the earpiece. It has not slipped out, but I do occasionally check it and make sure its placed back into a tight position.

If I ever want to watch movies while sitting down a table, you simply clip it to the beltclip upside down, and it'll act as a horizontal stand for the iPhone. Whenever I take out the phone from the holster, the added grip from the BSE ensures that it won't slip out from my hand that easily.

I do not use this when I'm working out though, I use the InCase sport armband with optional handstrap.

I am very happy with my setup

They were out of that one when I ordered, so I went with the case made out of puppy and kitty nose leather. So soft!

I have the black one. Expensive for what it is (a 5 cent piece of rubber) but it fits the iPhone perfectly, you can access all features with the case on and it provides pretty good protection. It's the best case in my opinion out of all the ones I checked out.

i have been using this case for about 3 weeks now. I thought it was a great case until the rubber started to stretch and it's no longer skin tight. Other than that, it's everything i was looking for in a case.

Right now I'm using the one that came with my 60GB iPod Video, it works pretty good. It covers most of the phone and I just take the phone out of the case when I need to use it or sync it.

The incase rubber cases DO stretch and DO scratch the metal part of your iphone.

I just received my bestskinsever package and will be putting that on this weekend. I also have about 3 or 4 cases that I use, I will take pics and post a more extensive review later.

If it matters, I am more concerned with compacting my carry out items so I have concentrated on wallet cases and am hoping that combining my BSE with a great case will give me a perfect combination.

So far will not recommend the rubber incase or the nupocket wallet.
